‘Elvis’ to perform at festivalUNION — The King of Rock

and Roll himself, Elvis Presley, will perform at this year’s Uniquely Union Festival courtesy of Elvis impersonator Rick Alviti.

The 2015 Uniquely Union Festival will be held Friday, Sept. 11 and Saturday, Sept. 12 in downtown Union. The festival will feature a variety of fun and entertaining activities and events including live musical performances.

One of those performing will be Alviti who will take to the main stage as the headlining act on Friday night from 8:30-10 p.m.

He will not, however, be performing as himself, but as Elvis.

Alviti’s website (www.rickalvitishow.com) states that growing up, Alviti, a New York native, “got a taste for Hollywood at an early age, being fascinated with the stars and glitter. Elvis Presley had always been his idol, he listened to his music and read everything he could on him. Rick has always had an ear for music, he plays piano by ear and also learned to play the banjo and sing.

“His dreams took him to L.A. where he studied acting and worked as a singing bartender. He had long hair and a beard when he went to Hollywood, after cutting his hair and shaving his beard for an acting part everyone started calling him “Elvis” because of his resemblance to the King.”

The website stated that Alviti “has performed on many TV shows and appeared in movies. His career has carried him from Hawaii, Hollywood, Las Vegas, to North Myrtle Beach, SC, even Malaysia. Rick moved to the Grand Strand (Myrtle Beach) and opened and starred at the North Myrtle Beach Celebrity Theatre.”

It further describes Alviti as “America’s leading and most respected Tribute artist in the country today. His tribute to Elvis is flawless. His admiration for the King is apparent to all that have seen him.”

Alviti’s performances “so impressed

the Las Vegas Convention Visitors Authority, that they appointed him spokesperson for the largest entertainment capital in the world “Las Vegas.” His Elvis tribute performances have been received with standing ovations, performing at such venues as the Las Vegas Road Show (11-city tour), Players Island Resort Showroom, Holiday Inn Casino, Playboy Mansion, Palm Desert Marriott, Waikiki Shell, Hawaii, Turning Stone Casino, Verona NY., Executive Inn, Owensboro, Kentucky, Prairie Meadows Race Track and Casino, State Fairs from Alaska to Oregon, just to name a few.”

The website states that Alviti’s “film and television work is impressive. He has appeared on such shows as Elvis is Alive and the award winning E R with George Clooney and One Tree Hill. He also has appeared in many music videos. He has done many benefit shows and is the spokesperson for the SC Alzheimer’s Association.”

It states that “Miller Lite paired … Alviti as Elvis with Winston Cup’s popular Rusty Wallace in conjunction with NASCAR for a national commercial.”

Alviti is described as “a gentlemen’s gentleman. When you see his Tribute to Elvis, you will be on your feet for more!”
