The Teacher Recruitment Program (TRP) at Texas State

University’s Round Rock Campus has, over the last

fifteen years, been providing an accelerated pathway

for individuals, who hold baccalaureate degrees, to be-

come teachers. The two-semester, accelerated, gradu-

ate-level teacher preparation program has been very

successful in preparing teachers from a variety of

fields. As a “hands on”, field-based program, many of

our newly certified TRP teachers have found employ-

ment in Leander ISD, Round Rock ISD, Austin ISD, Hutto

ISD, Taylor ISD and Pflugerville ISD, just to name a few.

The majority of TRP participants go on to complete

their Master’s degree in Education and many have ad-

vanced to leadership positions in surrounding school

districts. Although TRP was designed for mid-career

individuals, TRP also accepts recent graduates. The next

TRP information session will be held on

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 3, AVERY BUILDING, 453,
