Sept-Oct
2013
The coalition engages people with disabilities through a variety of services and outreach, in-cluding regular coalition meetings with special guest speakers and legislative and education updates. The coalition also sends out newslet-ters and alerts on issues important to the dis-ability community, and provides training and workshop opportunities to help participants with skill building and independent living. KCPC doesn’t just provide support to people with dis-abilities; it strengthens their families as well, providing parent mentoring for caregivers, and volunteer advocates for special education issues.

Every child deserves
healthy teeth The Access to Baby and Child Dentistry program
— ABCD — puts young children on a lifelong
path to good oral health. ABCD connects low-
income families with dentists who know how to
care for young kids, preventing tooth decay early
and educating parents about how to take good
care of their children’s teeth.
ABCD’s emphasis on prevention is making a
huge difference in our state, not only for young
children but for all Washingtonians. By getting
children into care when they’re very young, the
focus is on prevention rather than on the long-
term cost of treating dental disease. We’re saving
money and that benefits everyone. If you are in need
of dental care and in this situation please contact:
