September is the beginning of a new

Choir Year --- and there's no beer me

to join! We have several excing events

coming up: singing in the Clayton Harvest

Choir Fesval on September 16; Bethesda

Homecoming on September 23; holiday music for

Thanksgiving and a special Christmas musical! As our

new fall schedule begins, please give prayerful consid-

eraon to becoming a part of the choir family. Weekly

choir rehearsal will be held on Wednesday evenings

from 6:45 - 7:45pm; come join us as we "make a joyful

noise unto the Lord" - what a wonderful opportunity to

    witness and worship together!!

The town of Clayton holds an annual Harvest Fesval

mid-September, drawing a crowd of people to down-

town Clayton through a variety of events and enter-

tainment. On Sunday, September 16 from 1:30-9pm,

there will be a Praise Choir Fesval on the Town Square

near the Clayton Center, sandwiched between Main

and Second Streets. Bethesdas Adult Choir is on the

schedule at 5:30-6:15pm, and we welcome all who

would like to become special choir members and sing

with us that aernoon! Plan to bring your lawn chair

earlier in the aernoon, enjoy the music and fellowship

with other believers.and we will not hold evening ac-

vies at church so that we can stay on Town Square

for more praise and worship. While making plans for

the Harvest Fesval, I thought about that wordand

    what it means:

Harvest--- the Merriam-Webster diconary oers thesedenions: the season for gathering crops; to gather

and store a crop. And we read in Mahew 9:35-38: Jesus went

through all the towns and villages, teaching in

their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of

the kingdom and healing every disease and sick-

ness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion

on them, because they were harassed and helpless,

like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his

disciples, The harvest is plenful but the workersare few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to

send out workers into his harvest eld.So we have an opportunity before us: to venture

out of our comfort zones, to witness through mu-

sic and fellowship, to be workers in Gods harvesteld Wont you join us? God bless.

    40/40 PRAYER VIGIL

We as a church are registered with many other churches in

our Southern Bapst Convenon and beyond to commit to

pray for our naon. We desperately need spiritual revival in

our churches and renewal in our naon.

Although we will encourage each member to choose the 40 day opon, you may

choose the 40 hour opon. You can pray once each day between September 26

and November 4, or for 40 hours, between 4:00 pm, November 2 and 8:00 am, No-

    vember 4.

The important thing is that we pray! Prayer guides will be made available in Sep-

    tember.

    Ladies, aer an unexpected interrupon

in my life about 3 months ago, the Lord

is giving me His grace to connue in our

me of prayer and the Word here to-

gether in my home on Tuesday morn-ings. I would like for u s to start again on Tuesday, September 4th (aer La-

bor Day), 10:00 AM, at my home on 209 Will Court, Clayton. If ever we need

to join hearts and hands in prayer to the Father through our Lord Jesus

Christ, it is now! Jesus said in Luke 18:1 that ...at all me we Pray with-

out ceasing, so lets do it! Looking forward to meeng with you at the

throne of grace, I am sincerely your sister in Christ.
