^INTRODUCTORY NOTES

Due to the physical irregularities of shape inherent in this type of excav ation, the lengths, widths and depths recorded on Pages 243 following, are mainly overall dimensions for statistical purposes. They were not in most cases used for calculation of volumes, which were derived from precise field measurement reduced to 20' - l " sketches of plan and profile, by method generally accepted in assessing mine and foundation contractors' economic performance.

Location of the excavations, as shown on our Sampling Plan of August 20, 1969, enclosed herewith, was carried out by precise 3-dimensional survey by D. W. Endleman, O.L.S. V P.Fng. No. 3 Post .(southwest corner),of Claim No. 149137, was tied in during this survey when Stations A S B were permanently established. No. l Post of S.149137 was precisely tied in to Stations A 8. In accordance with the Instructions of your Presld Mr. Gordon Lellever, the undersigned proceeded to your mining claim 1n Roberts Township on July 23rd and 24th, 1971, at which time the common claim post of Claims Nos .S.149135 , S.149137, S.149138 and S.153604, was located by precise survey relative to the permanent- 'bonch mark' survey Stations A and B at the main work-site.

Attached you will find the "Estimate of Excavation Shafts, Pits S Trenches," originally submitted to you on March 5,19 which is.now revised as at July 26, 1971, to show the additional th claims on which ports of this work was done.

These estimates were based on the precise survey c D. W. Endleman, O.L.S., P.Eng. and a duplicate check of measurement of the excavations by our engineer, with locations relative to the above-noted survey Stations A and B , estab!i shed by celestial obser at i on in July, 1969.

In the pocket at the back of the attached, you w11 find our "Sampling Plan - of Part of - Roberts River Claims - held Nordic Industries Limited - Rcberts Township - District of Sudbury, Ontario 1 , dated August 20, 1969, which details the locations and size of the workings. This is now revised as of July 26, 1971, to show the above-noted common claim corner as precisely located on July 24 th, 1971.
