WhatDoesSEOMean?Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the visibility of
a website or a web page in search engines via the "natural" or un-paid
("organic" or "algorithmic") search results. ~ Wikipedia.com
To me SEO means: The actions required to show Google, Bing and Yahoo
that your Business Web Site deserves to be listed on the first page of the
Organic Search Results for your particular Keywords.
Keywords: The word, words or phrase that your potential clients would
type into the search box on Google, Bing, or Yahoo to find your business or
a business that suits their needs.

They are diagramed in
this manner to illustrate
the fact that you are
never really done with
SEO.
The results are some what
permanent and can
always be improved.
Vs. Pay Per Click
Advertising that the
results stop as soon as the
campaign stops. And
you will get the number
of clicks that you pay for.
1.KeywordResearchThings To Think About When Picking Your Keywords
• Number of Searches: How many people search for your keyword on a monthly basis
• Competition - How many other sites are trying to rank for the same keyword
• Keyword Usage – For example: If you own a Window Company you do not want your keyword to be Windows. You may get traffic, but most will probably be looking for Software.
• Keyword Length – For example: It is easier to rank for Seattle Real Estate than Real Estate, it is even easier to rank for Seattle Waterfront Real Estate
TOOL: Search “Google Keyword Tool” on Google
2.OnSiteOptimizationEverything You Do ON Your Website To Increase SEO
• Content – I blog 5-7 x’s a week and Use Landing Pages
• Indexation (Permalinks, Canoncial URL’s)- No Duplicate Content (Within Your Site or Scraping Other Sites)
• Meta Descriptions - Pages, Posts, Categories, Images
• Titles (H1 & H2 Tags) – Need to Include Keywords
• XML Sitemaps – An Outline of your Site
• Keyword Density – How often you use your keyword
• Images – Need to be Titled, Alt Titled, and Linked
• Internal Linking (Breadcrumbs, Related Posts, Page Navigation) –You Should Be Able To Easily Navigate Within the Pages and Posts of Your Site
• HTML Validation – No errors in code, or broken links
• Site Load Speed – How long it takes your site to load
If You Have A Wordpress Site These can all be adjusted with Plugins: http://www.jasonfox.me/wordpress-seo-10-wordpress-plugins/
3.OffSiteOptimizationEverything You Need To Do AWAY From Your Site
• Backlinking: “Having a Link Point… To Your Site… From Another Site”
• Each link To Your Site Is An Affirmation To Google That Your Site is Authoritative
• The Bigger The Site The Bigger The Affirmationo For example: It means more to Google if your site is linked on Zillow.com than if it is
linked on MaryTheRealtor.com
• Site Submission: o Google, Bing, Yahoo, DMOZ, Technoratti, Google Places, Yelp, Facebook
Places, Bing Business, Google Profiles, City Search, AOL, Reddit, Digg, Stumble Upon, Squidoo, Ezine Articles, MANY MORE…
• 1 Way (good) – Bookmarking, Guest Blogging, Post Commenting, Forums
• 2 Way (better) – Link exchange between you and another webmaster
• 3 Way (best) – Getting Linked To A Site, That is Linked To A Site
4.SocialSharingBoth Bing and Google (Panda) Announced That
Social Media Will Help Determine SEO Rankings

• With Google Panda Blog Posts Are More Importanto Getting Comments On Your Blog Posts Is Important
