Encik Rashid is a taxi driver. He drives passenger to or from the airport. He is honest and kind. Last week, he took a Korean passenger to Noir Hotel. The passenger was friendly. He told him that he had a meeting at the hotel. After sending the man, Encik Rashid went home. When he reached home, he went out of the taxi. He was about to lock it when he saw a black leather wallet on the back seat of the car. Quickly, he took the wallet. He opened the wallet and saw a photograph of the Korean passenger whom he drove to the hotel. It sprang to his mind that the wallet belonged to him. He decided to drive back to the hotel and return the wallet.
As soon as he arrived, he saw the man talking to the receptionist at the counter. He was looking rather worried, Encik Rashid approached the man. He gave the wallet back to him. The man was very happy and thankful to Encik Rashid for his kindness. He took out RM 100 and offered the money to him but he refused. The Korean man praised him.
En Rashid was delighted, but he knew that it was his responsibility as a taxi driver to show foreigners that Malaysians are kind and friendly people. As the saying goes, honesty is the best policy.
