Unit of Inquiry: I am Special

September 19, 2010Today, we read a story about “My Five Senses”.

Everyone was so keen to listen, reading and repeating words with me.

After listening to the story, I took my Pre-K class to a barefoot experiment to test

their sense of feeling.Natalie: “My feet feel cold.”

Jonty: “I like to run with my feet.”Marianne and Dan:” I’m scared to

walk.”

Can you guess whose feet are these???

Then they continued to their snack time.

Joy: “I can finish this all.”

I drink my milk.

”This moon cake is good. “

“This tastes good too.”

They all told me that they used their mouth and tongue for eating.

Today, I show my students some objects and ask them if they knew it.

Leonhard said, “It’s a white.” Natalie said, “oh, I eat this one.” Joy said, “shui”. Blake took the bottle and tried to drink it.

Jai: “What can we do with this water and flour?

Blake: Mix?

Joy looked eager to touch her stuff.

“Look Ms. Jai.”

“Can you help me?”

Natalie: “Look at my hands, I smell noodles.” Dan giggled as he agreed.

Review:I showed different pictures and asked them if they can tell what senses to use.
