On Thursday evening we formally said an emotional goodbye to our Year 11 students at their end of year Prom. The event, held at the Village Hotel in Cheadle, was a fantastic celebration of their time at Hulme Hall. Students and staff looked stunning in their array of ball gowns and dinner suits. Following a lovely meal, Mrs Smith, who masterminded the whole event, joined Mr Lamerton to compere an awards ceremony, before announcing our Prom King, Elias, and Prom Queen, Alisa. The real party started then with Jamie entertaining the crowd with his singing skills before leading the dancing. It was an enjoyable and fitting way for our Year 11s to end their time at Hulme Hall and my lasting memory will be of how well the students got on with each other and how they interacted with the staff throughout the evening. My congratulations go to them on completing their GCSE examinations and I wish them all a very enjoyable and relaxing summer break. See you on results day! Dean Grierson, Headmaster Hitting the Mark Congratulations to Becky from Year 10 who this week represented the North at the ISA National Athletics Championships in Birmingham. Becky came first in the North area meeting and qualified to compete in the finals of the Inter-girls Shot Put event. She threw herself into the competition and we are proud to announce that she tied for third place. Considering that these championships are open to pupils from over 500 schools nationwide, you realise what a huge achievement Becky has accomplished. Well done! New Friends Have you ever tried making a tall tower from spaghetti and marshmallows?! Our new Year 7 pupils gave it a good go this week during their Transition Day. The children had a fantastic time getting to know each other and took part in a series of fun activities designed to break the ice and get them working as a team.

They created virtual worlds, played tennis, spoke Spanish and made some delicious-looking cookies! A brilliant start to their Hulme Hall life and we look forward to getting to know them and their families.

A Taste of Hulme Hall It was new faces all round this week as we also welcomed some Year 5 pupils on a Taster Day. More than 20 prospective pupils had the chance to sample the unique environment that we offer here at Hulme Hall.

There was great excitement when the children were given the opportunity to use a Bunsen burner and the fun didn’t stop there. They also got creative in art and drama, played some team games on the all weather surface and made some rocky road. I am sure the sweet treats were eaten very quickly but hopefully the memories of the day will last a lot longer!

Final Curtain Call for Costumes

Ahoy there me hearties! Make sure those Treasure Island costumes are brought in on Monday or we’ll make you walk the plank!
