The Programme

The programme begins with a brief opportunity to connect with tutors and fellow participants in a relaxed setting. Over coffee you will hear about the programme purpose, content, approaches and expectations. You will be introduced to the 360 degree leadership appraisal, which combines feedback from others (peers, staff, chair, other stakeholders) with a self-assessment of your leadership style.

An intensive day and a half that will enhance understanding of the leader you are: your leadership presence, skills, motivation and style. The Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) will provide information about your personality and resilience, and how you may perceive and be perceived by others. You will have the opportunity to consider your leadership profile in the context of changes in the third sector, your organisation, staff and personal challenges and aspirations. You will explore real leadership dilemmas through the lens of contemporary leadership models and explore potential solutions through peer mentoring. You will consider your personal sources of power and influence, and how to exercise influence effectively. The Leadership Intensive will support you in building and communicating an authentic personal leadership vision.

This one to one coaching session provides feedback on your 360 leadership profile, and your coach will work with you to interpret the results of the assessment, making connections between your leadership style and your impact. An output of the session will be identification of initial personal leadership goals guiding development throughout the programme. This session is a personal call to leadership, with the 360 informing action. The coaching session takes approximately 1.5 hours and is entirely confidential.
