The College Selection Process - Transcripts
➢ SENIORS: Must use Naviance Student to request transcripts for colleges -----→ As Naviance is the fastest and most reliable method for RHS to send transcripts, school profile, and LOR’s.
➢ Your semester transcript, which includes GPA and Class Rank, will be sent to all colleges you have applied to in the middle of February.
➢ Colleges will see the mid-year grades and take into consideration any grades that have fallen substantially! (Acceptance is conditional and may be revoked)
➢ Students are responsible for requesting/sending SAT/ACT scores➢ SAT Subject Tests-Check with colleges to which you have applied to see
if these are required and crucial for placement.➢ Final transcripts are only sent to the college or university that YOU
select in your Senior Survey.

What is the Coalition for Access, Affordability, and Success?
➢ A diverse group of over 90 public and private US colleges and universities that has come together to develop tools to improve access to college, especially for low-income and first-generation students, and to better support all students in the admissions process.
➢ Coalition schools represent a range of public schools with low-cost, in-state tuitions and private schools committed to meeting the full demonstrated need of all their admitted domestic students.

APPLICATION PORTAL
![Page 15: SENIOR COLLEGE APPLICATION PROCESS...Q&A The College Selection Process Traditional Advice - Pick Three to Five Colleges: “Reach” School “Good Chance” School “Safe” School](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022070114/607b26def5d0a335b63d76f8/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
What the Locker IS:➢ A free tool, fully owned and controlled by a student. A private place
upload important items, such as papers, videos, and photos, as a record of their high school experience; this cloud-based Locker becomes the foundation of their application to Coalition schools.
➢ Access to the Locker and its contents are controlled by the student.
➢ A tool to help engage students in the college preparation process at the appropriate time. This will help students develop aspirations, self-awareness, and habits of reflection.
![Page 16: SENIOR COLLEGE APPLICATION PROCESS...Q&A The College Selection Process Traditional Advice - Pick Three to Five Colleges: “Reach” School “Good Chance” School “Safe” School](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022070114/607b26def5d0a335b63d76f8/html5/thumbnails/16.jpg)
What the Collaboration Space IS:
➢ A free space for students to invite school counselors, teachers and trusted advisors to connect with them and to help level the playing field in college preparation (distinct from a college application).
➢ A free space for school counselors and mentors to engage with their students, gauge their progress, provide advice on required courses, and advise on application steps.
➢ Students have access to a collection of helpful and informative articles, checklists, and printables on the subject of applying to colleges, many authored by admissions experts.
![Page 17: SENIOR COLLEGE APPLICATION PROCESS...Q&A The College Selection Process Traditional Advice - Pick Three to Five Colleges: “Reach” School “Good Chance” School “Safe” School](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022070114/607b26def5d0a335b63d76f8/html5/thumbnails/17.jpg)
Coalition Application FAQ:
➢ Full LIST of Coalition Member Colleges (Link)
➢ Profile (Link) – Similar to Common APP – Demographic, counselor information, course work, etc. Add Colleges to be able to apply.
➢ Much like COMMON APP; Coalition includes a main essay which is a required application component at many colleges. Students can choose between 5 different essay prompts (Link)
➢ Under student “college tab” you will request transcript/LOR’s – Be sure to see Ms. Sprinkle if you are strictly applying to a Coalition School!
