SEnerCon´s role in the SUPERSEDE project:
use-case provider

Typical (end-) user of the iESA• most users are between 30 and 50, men, house owner • most of them are interested in monitoring their
consumption, check how they can save energy • many are dedicated towards energy saving and want to
measure their energy saving actions
Other stakeholders • project manager that needs extension of the iESA • sales people who have ideas for extension they want to sell
to business partners• partners who want to give a customized iESA to their end-
users • frontend and backend developer
SEnerCon use case

General problems and question in development • implementing a feature where we think(!) this is useful, how
to clarify that? • we have developed features that are not (much) used
afterwards • connection between feedback about a problem and the state
of the system at this time +• which clicks has the user done? • what does the screen look like? • which data is in the current session of the user?
• does a feature has an effect on the consumption of the user? • general remark:
• the more feedback we get the more time we need for answering this and dealing with it. Not answering something is frustrating for the user
SEnerCon use case

What we want to do in SUPERSEDE• Testing three approaches to extends the iESA with different
measurements • reduce the dropout rate by guiding the user through the
application • give the users advice for doing modernisation • provide individual evaluation of the data
• We want to answer questions like • “Is a feature used by the users?” • “Does a feature has an effect on the consumption of the
user?” • “Is our calculation valid for the users?” • “Did a feature really helped?” • “Which extension of a feature are useful for the user?”
SEnerCon use case

Our goals • reach a high binding to the tool by the users • lower the dropout rate → get more users • build features that we can sell to the user and be sure
they are u
