STATE SENATOR DAVID LONG SENATE DISTRICT 16 State Sen. David Long is the President Pro Tempore of the Indiana State Senate. He has served in this posion since 2006 and has been a member of the Senate since 1996. Among other dues, Senator Long is responsible for the day- to-day operaons of the Senate, appoints all commiee chairs and assigns all legislaon to the various Senate commiees. Prior to his Senate tenure, Long served on the Fort Wayne City Council for eight years. Senator Long’s community involvement, both past and present, includes serving on the boards of Junior Achievement, the Boys and Girls Club of Fort Wayne, the Lincoln Museum, the Fort Wayne Urban Enterprise Zone and the Fort Wayne Plan Commission. Long aended Wabash College and the University of California at Davis, where he obtained his B.A. He received his juris doctorate degree from the University of Santa Clara. He is employed as general counsel for Pizza Hut of Fort Wayne, Inc. Senator Long’s wife, Melissa, recently rered from her posion as a news anchor for Indiana’s News Center in Fort Wayne. State Sen. David Long is the President Pro Tempore of the Indiana State Senate. He has served in this position since 2006 and has been a member of the Senate since 1996.
Among other duties, Senator Long is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Senate, appoints all committee chairs and assigns all legislation to the various Senate committees.
Prior to his Senate tenure, Long served on the Fort Wayne City Council for eight years. Senator Long’s community involvement, both past and present, includes serving on the boards of Junior Achievement, the Boys and Girls Club of Fort Wayne, the Lincoln Museum, the Fort Wayne Urban Enterprise Zone and the Fort Wayne Plan Commission.
