These PP textile belts are generally used in extraction and

transformation industries for conveying bulk material of largegrain size at temperatures between -25C and +60C.

Our PP textile belt consists of rubber covers and mouldededges and a textile carcass. The carcass has a multiply structure comprising 2 to 5 pliesof PP (polyamide warp and weft) synthetic fabric. A layer ofskim gum covers each ply.

The covers protect the carcass against damage, adverseweather conditions and biological and chemicalaggressions. The role of the carcass is to transmit the longitudinal forcesand absorb the dynamic forces generated by the falling andconveying of the material.

These PP textile belts are produced with cover grades W, X,Y and Z complying with standard DIN 22102 or anti-abrasive cover grade D.

    Areas of application

Open-pit coal mines (conveying of overburden, coal andaggregates)

Open-pit mineral mines (lime, phosphates, various ores) Treatment of minerals Iron and steel industries Cement works (quarry materials and transformation) Paper mills Port installations Public works Agriculture Sugar factories Thermal power plants

TheRIP STOPrange combines the convenience of a textile

belt with the strength of steel, owing to its multiply structureequipped with a metal shield in the top cover. This belt is available from type 500/3 to type 3150/5.

TheRIP STOPrange consists of woven fabric plies (polyesterwarp/polyamide weft) with a rubber interface. This carcassis protected by an anti-shock metal shield consisting of steelcords incorporated in the top cover.

The standard cover is a superior-quality anti-abrasive Dgrade cover. Product temperature < 80C. It is also possibleto manufacture these belts in grade X, Y or W as per DIN22102. For the other cover grades, please consult ourtechnical departments.

METALCORDbelts are manufactured with two types ofcarcass (warp cords and weft cords):- Carcass with elastic M warp cords (4x7 construction),strong impact resistance, particularly suitable for: conveyors with small pulley diameters curved conveyors with small radii severe conditions of use frequent stopping and starting

    - Carcass with reduced-elasticity E warp cords (7x7construction), high breaking strength, particularly suitable forapplications with conveyors with large centre distances.

Our weft cords are specially designed (ten times more elasticthan the warp cords) and enable very good troughingwhatever the width of the belt.Example: 35 trough, width 800 mm, type 2250 N/mm.

    - Belt complying with standard EN ISO 15236

We guarantee excellent rubber penetration and highadhesion values. Our open type cord design, our expertise in chemicaladhesion between cords and rubber and our 40-barvulcanisation process give the belt very high cord adhesion.

Only theMETALCORDbelt has its own carcass, with 3layers of metal cords (cords of variable elasticity). This typeof construction presents various advantages. These include: excellent cord/rubber adhesion resistance to repeated shocks resistance to penetration ability to eject foreign bodies limiting of longitudinal cuts and tears possibility of total wear of covers aptitude for winding on small pulley diameters aptitude for accepting small convex radii of curvature good efficiency at joint possibility of fastener jointing easy emergency repairs

severe conditions of use high outputs large centre distances and steep gradients high belt breaking strength

Areas of use: Coal mines Extraction industry Ore transformation installations Metallurgy Thermal power plants Sugar factories

    Port installations

Advantages of SEMPERCORD steel cord conveyor belts:

Possibility of use in case of very high breaking strength

(ST 7000 N/m) Low elongation, making possible the production of longconveyors with reduced tension travel

Operating safety and long service life Good transverse flexibility allowing the use of deep

CONSTRUCTION OF BELTS WITH TRANSVERSE REINFORCEMENTS

The carcass is composed of warp cords with low elongation (elongation under reference load 0.2 0.3%).Their number and diameter depend on the breaking strength of the belt. The transverse reinforcements consist:- either of specific transverse metal cords with very high elasticity,- or polyamide fabric. These transverse reinforcements can be included in the carcass, in which case they are called the weft. These transverse reinforcements can be included in the thickness of the cover, in which case they are called the b

Depending on the working conditions, the transverse reinforcements may be placed on either side of the warp coone side only.

The standard cords are hot-galvanised and have diameters

of 3.7 to 11.2 mm and 7x7 or 7x19 constructionsdepending on the diameter (other constructions are possible).Brass-plated cords can be used. The construction of the cordsenables good penetration and distribution of the rubber.Owing to an efficient chemical process, we obtain excellentrubber-metal adhesion. This chemical adhesion betweencords and rubber and the construction of the cordsguarantee excellent holding power which is in all casesgreater than that demanded by the standards. The goodpenetration of the rubber and the good adhesion of eachcord ensure that Sempercord belts have an exceptionalservice life.

The abrasion index, breaking strength and breakingelongation values of the covers depend on the grade of thecover mixtures chosen (X, Y, W, etc.).

Depending on the conditions of use (surface or bottom) and

the level of safety demanded, the various international (ornational) standards define the tests which the belts mustundergo to meet the criteria defined by these standards. In addition, certain countries demand specific approvals forunderground uses, mainly in coal mines.

RangeAll our EP (polyester warp, polyamide weft) and PP

(polyamide warp, polyamide weft) textile carcass belts ormetal belts (METALCORD,ST/SEMPERCORD, METALTRANS) areavailable in fireproof quality (see page 37).

They are manufactured on demand: in specific cover thicknesses of 3+1.5 to 15+10 in widths of 400 to 2800 mm in the following breaking strengths:

    - TRANSFLAM textile, EP or PP fabric2 plies: 250 N/mm to 1250 N/mm3 plies: 400 N/mm to 1400 N/mm4 plies: 500 N/mm to 2500 N/mm5 plies: 630 N/mm to 3500 N/mm

    - TRANSFLAM metalwith M cords: 500 N/mm to 2000 N/mmwith E cords: 800 N/mm to 2250 N/mmwith DIN construction cords:

    630 N/mm to 5400 N/mm

TheTRANSFLAMrange is a range specially designed to

meet the safety requirements of various industries. These belts are designed mainly: to prevent the propagation of an accidental fire to guard against risks of explosion due to the accumulationof static electricity

Characteristics of conveyor to be equippedAll the data concerning the conveyor to be equipped minimum pulley diameter trough transition length tension travel to be allowed for are indicated in the Technical Recommendations section.

Heat resistanceThe temperatures of use of our fireproof belts are the sameas those of our anti-abrasive belts, i.e. a range of -25 to80C.All COKE WARF belts are available for applications with atemperature of use of up to 120 with peaks of up to150C.

This range is designed to meet the increasing mechanical

and thermal stresses generated by the conveying of materialsat temperatures between 100 C and 220 C with possiblepeaks at 300 C.

Optimum performances are obtained with the TEC cover.

SEMPERTRANS is able to offer you three possiblestructures: Multiplyconsisting of 2 to 4 plies of EP (polyester warpand polyamide weft) or PP (polyamide warp and polyamideweft) woven fabric with rubber interfaces. Multiplyconsisting of EP (polyester warp and polyamideweft) or PP (polyamide warp and polyamide weft) wovenfabric with rubber interfaces protected by an anti-shock metal

shield incorporated in the top cover. Entirely metal carcass comprising a heat shieldincorporated in the top cover. (MWH belt of which the heatshield has the property of evacuating the stored calories).
