We have been developing and producing high-quality gaskets for windows, doors, gates and facades at the Deggendorf site in Germany since 1945. As an expert manufacturer of gaskets, we produce over 2 million metres of quality gaskets every day in more than 10,000 tailor-made, individually developed geometries. As our products can withstand the most severe of climatic conditions, they are in high demand around the world. As a result, we export most of our output.

As a specialist in high-quality gaskets for the construction industry, Semperit is totally convinced of the properties of EPDM rubber. For more than 60 years our tried-and-tested gasket material has offered unique benefi ts in terms of material, chemical and physical properties, manufacturing-related aspects and a range of advantages across the entire value chain.

With elastic recoverability of up to 95 %, EPDM is ideal for use in gaskets and is far superior to any other material available. EPDM avoids many of the typical problems such as hardening of the corners, poor compression set and the resulting risk of leakage and glass breakage. The advantages of EPDM over TP were scientifi cally confi rmed in the “Rosenheim Window Study” conducted by the ISP Institute in Rosenheim, Germany.

Numerous patented developments testify to the skill that Semperit has gained with EPDM. Our experience allows us to precisely adjust the properties of the material to meet any and all requirements. Whether cellular or non-cellular, fi re resistant compounds or special anti-friction coatings, we create geometries for every application. At the same time, through long-running cooperation with major machine manufacturers, we are setting new standards for processing. High standards of quality and changing product specifications define the market for gaskets. As development partner, Semperit has gained a key position by translating its expertise, experience and holistic thinking into added value for its customers across the entire value chain.

From raw material to finished product, from material development to the design of geometries and product innovations as well as the development of process-supporting technologies, Semperit performs the entire development work in-house and in cooperation with leading technology partners. We have state-of-the-art equipment and processes at our disposal at both our own Technology Centre and in the R&D centre and affiliated mixing plants of the Semperit AG Holding. With such ideal equipment and resources at our disposal, we achieve the speed, flexibility and efficiency required to provide you with the best support possible. Material development We conduct extensive material research, starting with the raw material. Our technicians in the central laboratory of Semperit AG Holding quickly fulfil all of your requirements. We develop specialized cellular and non-cellular compounds with insulating, stable and fire retardant properties, and optimize surfaces to meet system requirements. Geometry design On the basis of your individual specifications, we develop geometries for specific applications. We use modern methods such as CAD, rapid prototyping and the simulation of material deformation using the finite element method (FEM), thus shortening development cycles and achieving the key requirements and processability that our customers demand.

The Semperit Technology Centre specializes in testing the feasibility of innovative ideas, supporting their development through extensive trials, inspection and measurement and verifying the quality and standards compliance of our developments and end products. At our Deggendorf plant we research new technologies that ensure added value for our gaskets. Using prototypes and pre-series production we conduct extensive tests under real-world conditions. In turn, the results of our measurements then fl ow into the development of components and process chain optimization. By jointly developing new processing methods with machine manufacturers we eliminate existing bottlenecks in the production process chain, saving you time and expense.

Our quality managementSemperit’s high-quality gasket profiles combine long-term cost-efficiency with the key requirements demanded by our customers. Our quality management system is certified to DIN EN ISO 9001:2008.

We maintain the world-class quality of our products and processes through ongoing verification processes, which in turn are integrated into our continual improvement process. A distributed control system ensures continuous monitoring and analysis of all manufacturing processes. By carrying out preventive maintenance, we ensure that our equipment and systems operate correctly and precisely. In addition, a number of standardized monitoring systems throughout the entire production process, such as fully automated dimensional inspection, ensure compliance with our quality standards. All our gaskets meet the stringent requirements of the relevant standards.

Our three compound mixing plants ensure security of supply

Semperit produces the raw materials for gaskets used in building construction at its three compound mixing plants in Austria, the Czech Republic and Poland. This allows us to ensure continuity of supply and provide you with products that are sustainable and of consistently high quality.
