March 2020 The Tri-Country, Tri-City Tour will be exploring the Adriatic Sea and Balkan region in southeastern Europe, discovering a diverse collage of global cultural directions. Trieste, Rijeka, and Ljubljana are the place of unusual urban qualities. Remains of changing social revolutions define cities in the Balkans and of voids and abandonment, constantly re-en- countering its history of the crisis, resistance, and resilience. It is this reconstruction that has created an alternative paradigm, based on principals of re-building. We will be visiting the port city of Trieste, conti- nue to “The Port of Diversity” European Capital of Culture 2020 - City of Rijeka, and discover further unique architecture in Ljubljana, Slovenia’s ca- pital city. The group will travel by bus, starting in Zurich and identify the individual connections between the different cities.
