It tightens restrictions on the use of certain chemicals, clarification for the rules on warning and implementation of a product risk assessment program. About the Guest Speakers
Mr. Andy Fung Technical Consultant in Dyeing and Finishing Msc in Polymer Chemistry - Queens University of Belfast, UK Chartered Colourists - Society of Dyers and Colourists (SDC) Higher Diploma in Textile Chemistry, Hong Kong Polytechnic University Andy has served in a number of key technical positions in his career, including regional technical manager in BASF, business segment head in CIBA Specialty Chemicals (HK) Ltd., research and development manager in Comfort Dyeing Works; lecturer in Hong Kong Polytechnic University, senior consultant in Hong Kong Productivity Council. Besides, Andy has been the visiting lecturer in Hong Kong Productivity Council and Clothing Industry Training Authority (CITA) in subject of dyeing, printing and finishing for many years. Andy's expertise covers not only the production knowledge in dyeing and finishing factory but also the unique properties of chemicals and colourants. Mr. Michael Yeung PhD Candidate, Master of Commerce in Marketing, Higher Diploma in Textile Chemistry, President’s Diploma of ASDC, Chartered Colorist, Certified Black Belt, QMS and EMS Lead Auditor, MCIM.
Michael Yeung has regional exposure of apparel and textile related industries in Asia Pacific region and he has been working in the field of garment accessories and trims for over 18 years, covering zippers, buttons, hangers, brand identity products, packaging materials of attaching products and cable ties, and so forth. Michael is also a qualified QMS and EMS Lead Auditor since early 90s’. He is providing management consultancy and business re-engineering services for both local and overseas enterprises. Michael has extensive and wide spectrum of management consultancy experiences in the fields of textiles, apparels, property management, shoes, plastics and metals, toys, quality control, testing services and garment accessories. He has already assisted a number of clients in establishing management systems complying with ISO9001, ISO14001, OHSAS18001, ISO13485 and SA8000, as well as product certification like Oeko-Tex Standard 100 (Class I and II) and other eco-requirements in the States and Europe. In the past few years, Michael has been actively involving in Six Sigma training, quality improvement projects and other management training courses.
Mr. Wong King Hang (Chairman of the Hong Kong Hide & Leather Traders' Association Ltd)
Mr. Wong King Hang was graduated from the Deutche Gerber Institute and has worked in the leather
industry for more than 30 years. He has extensive knowledge in the making and production of leathers of all kinds. Mr. Wong is now the chairman of the Hong Kong Hide & Leather Traders' Association Ltd and is active in providing consultancy service mainly focusing on leather and fur auxiliary.
Also, Mr. Wong has been a guest speaker in sharing his expertise on leather in the Hong Kong Productivity Council for more than 10 years.
