60 Second Job Preparation60 Second Job Preparation

1 - Whether you are young or old, just be sharp, enthusiastic, energetic, happy.

2 - Get fit and trim.

3 - Collect potential questions and write out short answers – keep this forever.

4 - Make your resume simple, easy to read, replacing statements like, hardworking, 15 years experience, with objective statements that hit hard and prove your skills and abilities, using numbers and dollars.  If you want a job as a Tax Accountant, put those words in several places.  Put down accomplishments not job duties on the resume and remember you don't need your boss' approval for what you say.

5 - Put your resume on Monster and Careerbuilder and edit it daily, yes daily, so people will see that it's fresh.  Carefully word your title in Monster, something like Joe Green, Tax Account.

6 - Make it easy for people to contact you with only one phone, don't screen calls and use a short, simple, professional email address.

7 - Networking is king for getting a job.  Read, "How to make people like you in 90 seconds" by Boothman

8 – Use recruiters, but don’t lose your common sense.

9 – Don’t lose your common sense and do things like give strangers your social security number

10 – Be proud of who you are and what you have done and get in a good mood prior to interviews.

11 – Rely on God.

MAKEOVERS that GET YOU the JOB!!!!

1 Corinthians 6:19-20Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.

Perception is EVERYTHING! DRESS TO ACHIEVE THE BEST!!! 1. According to Kim Zoller at Image Dynamics, 55% of a person’s perception of you is based on how you look!

2.According to Elmo Kandel, the Editor and Publisher of Article Click, Benefits of Dressing For Success include the ability to improve your professionalism, both inside and outside of work and the ability to gain self-confidence and self-esteem. These are both important to your health and wellbeing.

3.To get the job, you have to look the part!

4.Look your best regardless of the organization’s dress code, it is better to over dress than under dress.

5.The way you put yourself together says a lot to others about your confidence! Treat an interview like a first date!

GENERAL TIPS:1.Use a firm handshake! A firm handshake tells the interviewer you are confident. Avoid limp, soft handshakes.

2.Posture is important! Stand tall with your head up, this will also convey confidence! When seated, sit up straight, lean in a little to convey interest and relax. Do not fold your arms.

3.Make eye contact! Consistent eye contact also shows your confidence. As you answer and ask questions, look the interviewer(s) in the eye.

4.Smile! Make the person interviewing you feel comfortable and pull them in with your smile.

5.It is extremely important that your appearance convey that you are neat, professional and organized.

6.Always shower before an interview. Allow yourself enough time to prepare your look before the interview.
