Saxophone Serial Numbers The serial number on a saxophone is usually located on the opposite side of the body tube from the low D key. This is just above the body to bow brace. Some saxophones, like the early Selmer’s, had the serial number in both places, on the bell and back of the body tube. In this case use the serial number on the bell to date your saxophone.
