Prof. J.K. Verma has served as Coordinator, NSS and he is also actively involved in the activities of the Society for Preservation of Healthy Environment an Ecology and Heritage of Agra (SPHEEHA).Most of the Faculty have been /are Programmed Officers,NSS (5) and are involved in

the activities like, social service, rural health, environment protection, campus cleanliness, adult education, etc. Faculty members also make a significant contribution to the Distance Education Programme of the Institute by transmitting their lectures to the centers situated in the remote areas of the country. Remedial teaching scheme of the UGC meant for the help of the students of SC/ST, OBC, Weaker Section and Minority Groups, is also coordinated by the HOD of the Institute level. The student/children of deprived sections of the rural areas were also given the benefit of the Departmental expertice when Dr.V.Premlata and Ms. Bani Dayal Dhir ran English Proficiency courses at various places/states of India during the summer vacations as follows: 1. 20 Day course at RS. School , Rajaborari (M.P)-‐ June,2009 2. 10Day course at Radhasoami High School, Murar, Bhojpur(Bihar),June, 2010 3. This course was also run for small durations at DEI IT Centers, Bangluru, M.T.V. Puram(Tamil
Nadu) and Chennai in June, 2011

• Professionalizing Under-‐graduate and Post-‐ graduate programmes to meet the employment need as, (i) BA (Hons.) with 1 year Certificate Course in Translation Studies/Creative Writing/ Performing Arts etc. (ii) BA with MA and Ph.D. Integrated Programme,(iii) Graduation/ Post – graduation Programme(s) in Journalism and Mass Communication, (iv) MA IN English with Specialization in TSL/Applied Linguistics/Indian Writings in English/American Literature/ Commonwealth Literature, etc.
• Up gradation of the existing labs, (ii) Renovation of the existing class-‐rooms, (iii) State of Art DTP lab, etc.
