CANOE SLALOM WORLD CUP 3, 4 & WCHSELECTION CRITERIA SUPPLEMENT

Canoe Kayak Canada does not intend to send support staff to World Cup 3 based on the prioritization of anticipated budgetary resources. However, the following selection procedures will be used to select paddlers who intend to compete in World Cup 3 & 4. Canoe Kayak Canada reserves the right to review participation in these events following the approval of the 2021 Canoe Slalom Budget.

1. Selection ProceduresThe selection process laid out in this document must be read in combination with the Canoe Slalom Selection Procedures. and the National Team Trials Ranking System and Performance Standards.

2. Selection RacesThe following Selection Races will be used to select paddlers to fill Athlete Quota positions in the Competition Schedule.Date Selection Races Location

4. Selection Criteria4.1 The selection of paddlers to compete in World Cup 3, 4 and the World

Championships will be determined in a top-down fashion according to the

Approved by the Canoe Slalom HPC on XXXXX1

following prioritization procedures and subject to the availability of Athlete Quota positions.

4.2 Paddlers that are nominated to and compete in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games will be selected in their corresponding event.

4.3 Paddlers that advance to the semifinal in World Cup 1 and 2 will be selected in their corresponding event.

4.4 The remaining Athlete Quota positions in each event may be allocated to eligible paddlers not already selected based on the results in their corresponding event at the identified selection races:

4.4.1 The first ranked paddler that also satisfies the MPS in Selection Race 6 excluding any paddlers that have already been selected.

4.4.2 The first ranked paddler that also satisfies the MPS in Selection Race 5 excluding any paddlers that have already been selected.

[4.4.3] The second next ranked paddler that also satisfies the MPS in Selection Race 6 excluding any paddlers that have already been selected and so on until all quotas positions are filled.

4.5 Any remaining Athlete Quota positions may be allocated to eligible paddlers in their respective events who satisfy the MPS and achieve the lowest Paddler Percentage Score in Selection Races 5 or 6.

4.6[4.5] Paddlers selected to compete in Canoe Slalom K1 events may also be nominated to compete in the Extreme Slalom K1 Event according to all the prioritization procedures outlined in this Selection Criteria.

4.7 Any remaining Extreme Slalom Quota positions may be allocated to paddlers selected to compete in Canoe Slalom C1 events according to all the prioritization procedures outlined in this Selection Criteria.
