You're looking for a feature-rich application You need to provide online testing to several test takers at the same time You want to be able to store, analyze, print and export the test results You're not looking for the cheapest thing you can find or expecting to
find something fabulous for "free". If you are, I'm afraid we can't help you.
As a general rule: we don’t recommend making a buying decision solely on price. Nor do we recommend selecting an open-source testing solution if you don't have the IT/technical resources to implement and support it.
A few assumptions

Slide 4
Jot down a list of features you require in your testing program. What are your top 3 to 5 priorities? Distinguish between the must-have’s and the “nice-to-have-but-
not-absolutely-necessaries”
The longer the list and the greater the complexity, the higher the price

Support is one of the key considerations in purchasing an online testing solution.
Does the product include support? If so, what level of support is available? Does the vendor provide online training? Is there a phone number I can call? Is support included in the cost of my purchase? Am I eligible for updates/upgrades? When is support available: days/times? If the vendor does not provide phone and online support and training we
suggest you look elsewhere. Fully-featured online testing solutions will require an investment of your time

something fabulous for "free".

We suggest that you make a features list.
Below is a list of features we often hear our customers mention.
Some features are common to everyone -- NO ONE WANTs TO HAVE TO MANUALLY GRADE TESTS and EVERYONE wants to have their test data stored and accessible by test administrators.

Hosting Your Online Testing
Do you want us to host your testing system or do you? Does the testing service offer both options? You may want to
host your own content at some point.

Purchasing Your Online Testing System
Are you interested in a subscription or a one-time purchase? Subscriptions are usually one year (12 months). If you don't
renew your subscription "goes dark"/expires/quits working until you renew your subscription.
Can you purchase the software outright? Some of our customers want to pay for it once and install it on their own servers.

What are your test administration requirements?
How do you plan on adding users to your testing system? Do you need AD/LDAP support? Do you need to offer some free or paid self-registration? What types of reports do you require? Do you need to generate ad hoc queries?
