Stage 4

Dimension 2. Comprehension.

Variables and properties that rule gas behavior

4

1. In order to have a deeper understanding of gas, read in detail about the kinetic molecular theory found in your textbook on page 131 and identify the main ideas.

2. Based on the above, write on your notebook at least three examples of

daily life in which the postulates of kinetic-molecular theory are applied.

● Note: Write your name on each page(s) used, take (a) picture(s)

of each and save them for later submission.

3. Then, read in detail the topics Gas Properties and Variables that explain gas behavior, which are found in your textbook (pps. 130 and 132 to 134) and identify the main ideas.

4. Using the main ideas of the previous step, create a summary in your

notebook.

● Note: Write your name on each page(s) used, take (a) picture(s)

and save them for later.

6. Do an analytical reading of the sections listed below and identify the main ideas, found in your textbook (pps. 137 to 181).

● “Boyle’s Law”● “Charles’ Law”● “Normal temperature and pressure”● “Combined equation of gas laws”● “Avogadro’s Law and normal molar volume”● “Equations of ideal gases”● “Dalton’s Law of partial pressures”

7. Communicate (via the Nexus question forum, social media networks, email, Google Drive or OneDrive chat, video chat, etc.) with your team members in order to:

● Assign participation roles ● Define a collaborative strategy for the completion of the following steps.● Establish agreements and participation rules.

8. Only the team representative or assigned student for this activity will create and share a document-type digital application taking into consideration the following options:

● Online document from Gmail: Watch Tutorial Google Drive● Document from Outlook, Hotmail or Institucional email: Watch Tutorial

OneDrive

9. Based on what you learned on step 6, along with your team members create a comparative table of the laws that include the aspects listed below. Do this in the previously created and shared document.

● Law● Statement ● Mathematical expression ● Constant value● Measurement units used● An everyday life example where the law of gases are observed.

10. Analyze in detail the examples of each of the laws included in (pp. 139 to 177) and answer the exercises of the next slide in your notebook.

12. Add the pictures requested before to the collaborative document.

● NOTE: This action will be done by each team member.

13. Once the collaborative activity is finished, only the representative or the assigned

student for this activity will download the document as a PDF file and submit it to

the corresponding section for the evaluation of the teacher.
