All chemistry routes failed. selectAZymeTM used for production of a key hydroxylated metabolite needed for further studies. Potential for further process optimisation and scale-up to multi-kilogram scale or even commercial production.

Numerous attempts by others have failed to define a chemical process to provide 99% ee product. Chemocatalysis, classical resolution and enzyme resolution all failed.

Customer detected two metabolites at >10% of total drug load by HPLC. Almac selected the best biocatalyst for production of each metabolite from its enzyme and microbe collections.
