Visit to Gorewada Water Treatment Plant:

Department of Civil Engineering of G.H. Raisoni College of Engi-neering organized a site visit on 21, August 2012 for the student of M.Tech I semester Environmental Engineering at Gorewada ,Nagpur to visit Water Treatment Plant. Mr. Barik, Site Engineer interacted with the students and gave detailed information about the plant. All the stu-dents were present on this occasion and were benefited greatly. Prof. Isha P.Khedikar and Prof. M.P. Bhorkar coordinated this event.

Seismic”Forum Special

The Civil Engineering Depart-ment of G. H. Raisoni College of Engineering Nagpur conducted the installation ceremony of Indian Concrete Institute (ICI) Student Chapter on August 26th 2012 under the Forum SEISMIC 2012.

On this occasion Dr. A. M. Pande, Vice President, West Region, ICI, Dr. A. D. Pofale, Chairman, ICI Nagpur Center, Er. K. C. Tayade, Governing Council Member, ICI and Er. Manoj Kawalkar, General Secretary, ICI were present. Dr. A. M. Pande spoke on this occasion

Manoj Kawalkar, General Secretary, ICI were present. Dr. A. M. Pande spoke on this occasion and explained various programs ICI carries out throughout the year. Er. K. C. Tayade along with other officials declared the installation of Student Chapter of ICI at GHRCE, Nagpur.

Mr. Vinit Sharma, VII Semester is the President and Mr. Anurag Anand Kumar, VII Semester is the Secretary of ICI Student Chapter at GHRCE. An Additional five member commit-tee comprising of students is formed to ensure smooth functioning of the student chapter. Prof. P. Y. Pawade, Associate Professor, Civil Engineering Department took initiative for start-ing this chapter.

SEISMIC ‘12

The Civil Engineering Depart-ment of G. H. Raisoni College of Engineering Nagpur conducted the installation ceremony of Fo-rum SEISMIC 2012 on August 26th 2012. Under the banner of Forum, the department conducts various activities such as site vis-its, guest lectures, paper presenta-tion competition etc.

Er. L. K. Jain, Structural Consultant, Nag-pur was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Dr. A. D. Pofale, Chairman, ICI, Nagpur Center was the Guest of Honor. Dr. A. M. Pande, Er. K. C. Tayade and Er. Manoj Kawalkar were also present from ICI. Dr. P. R. Bajaj, Director, GHRCE graced the occasion with her presence.

The program started with lighting of tra-ditional lamp with the hands of dignitaries and Saraswati Vandana. All the dignitaries were given a floral welcome by the stu-dent body. After the welcome, the elected student office bearers of the Forum-2012, were installed at the hands of Chief Guest, Guest of Honor, Director, GHRCE and Dean Academics. Mr. Amanjyot Khurana was elected Forum President. Mr. Sunay Jaiswal and Ms. Gauri Mahalle are Forum

Vice-President. Mr. Vinit B. Sharma is the Secretary while Mr. Abhishek Verma is the Joint-Secretary. Mr. Shubham Jain is the Treasurer.

The inaugural function con-cluded with a dance by Ms. Nupur Biyani. In the afternoon session, various events such as singing competition, dancing competition and Fashion Show was organized to showcase talents of the students.
