• South Africa Head Office said that South African Retail Sales rose to 6.8%, from 2.7% in the preceding month whose figure was revised down

from 3.5%. Analysts had expected South African Retail Sales to fall to 2.9% last month.

• Alstom T&D has secured a Rs 1610 million contact from PowerGrid for the extension of air-insulation substations at 14 sites across five indian

states & 765 KV reactors at Bhiwani . The expansion will reduce transmission line overloading & improve grid stability in north India . The order is

5% of sales .

• PFC Consulting, a wholly owned subsidiary of Power Finance Corporation, has transferred on March 12, 2014, its wholly owned subsidiary

namely RAPP Transmission Company to Sterlite Grid, successful bidder selected through Tariff based Competitive Bidding Guidelines for

Transmission services issued by Ministry of Power, Government of India.

• U.K. Office for National Statistics said that the claimant count fell by a seasonally adjusted 34,600 last month, compared to expectations for a

decline of 25,000 people. January’s figure was revised to a drop of 33,900 people from a previously reported decline of 27,600.

• Shriram City Union Finance a Shriram group company has filed the Draft Prospectus for a public issue of NCDs aggregating upto Rs 100 crore

with an option to retain over-subscription upto Rs 100 crore for issuance of additional NCDs, aggregating to a total of upto Rs 200 crore.

• Sun TV Network has executed a formal contract with YouTube and iTunes to facilitate the sale of Sun TV proprietary content on a pay for view

basis to customers living across the world.

• Japan’s exports in February rose 9.8 per cent from a year earlier to ¥5.8 trillion ($56.9 billion), marking the 12th consecutive month of

increased exports .

• Polaris Mgt Guideline : Polaris initiated the demerger process around 18 months to 2 years ago after looking at the opportunities in technology-

related financial services market . Polaris will continue to run the services business with a strong vertical and solution focus. Its products business

contributes around 22.7 percent to the total revenue, while services business contribute the remaining. The EBITDA margins for the services

business is over Rs 300 crore, and has an EPS at around Rs 20 per share, while products business is marginally loss-making because of higher sales

and marketing investment. Going forward, the company will be investing another Rs 100 crore in sales & marketing for products business .
