1. Installation of Software

It goes through the installation and setup process of security eyes software for Main, Remote, Multicast and

Center applications.

1.1 Install Security Software SecurityEyes_Main(It is example on Windows XP.)Step 1Please insert Installing CD into your CD-ROM Device, then the Security Eyes installer should come up

automatically. Please see below diagram:

Step 2: Please click INSTALL

SECURITYEYES_MAIN.

Step 3: Please select the language which you want to

use and then click OK to continue. It

supports 9 languages as below picture.

2. Security Eyes Software

2.1 Note before using Security Eyes Software

This software was designed by professional software team. It contains completed monitor functions &

advanced control ability. Strongly recommend users to read all details in this manual before using this

software. It will help you to know how you use the powerful software without problems.

All the Graphic User Interface can be changed by customization!!!

Contact our Sales Dept. for more details.

NoteIf you have not read the installation manual, please read it to install the hardware, drivers and software

(the software is for drivers related). This manual is especially for users to know how to use security

eyes software.

2.2 How to use security eyes softwareSecurityEyes_Main2.2.1 Please go to Start, Programs, Security Net Server, Security Eyes , the MAIN application will

auto run at the first time after you reboot computer as below picture. Please select the correct video

format and then check the resolution of your system.(It is better to set 1024*768 on your PC manually.)

2.2.2Below LOGIN window will come up. The default User Name is the same with the Password1111

Please click Ok at the first time you login. The account and password can be added or changed in

system settings of SecurityEyes_Main application.

2.2.3 After Login procedure, youll see the preview window and applications user interface on screen as

[Focused Camera Setting]

Users can click the Camera Number to make it be the focused camera. Take (6 Quads) for example,

if you click camera number 9, the biggest preview window will be changed to Camera 9s view. Others

will be Camera 10, 11, 12, 13 & 14. Please note that you cannot make random permutation.

[Status Window]

[ ] System Settings

Click

*ClickSystem Settingsto enter System Settings window, please go to page 23 to see the details.

*ClickEnable Camerato show the camera list, you can enable or disable cameras on it. The camera will not be

shown and no setting menu for it in System Settings if it is disabled.

*ClickLive Audioto play the live audio of the channel as user selects it.

(Only for PV-143VPRO, PV-153VPRO, PV-157VPRO or PV-180VPRO)

*ClickMenu Color Settingto change the background color of menu.

*ClickAccount Settingto enter Account Setting menu, please go to page 42 to see the detail.

*ClickRe-Loginto prompt LOGIN page again to wait for another user login to security software.

*ClickFull Screen Modeto monitor preview video under FULL SCREEN without control interface

shown.

*ClickLock Keyboardwill disable any input on keyboard except Ctrl+Alt+Del Hot Key.

*ClickStart Monitorto enable Monitor and all other functions set earlier will work after it.(Important!!! Please note this)

[ ] Schedule Record

Click to enter Schedule setting window as below.

NotePlease enable Schedule Server in Start Set of System Setting once you Add New Data inschedule.

A. Schedule in WEEKDAY mode [default mode].

For users to set a period of time in schedule.

User can set the events to be started in the schedule.

Record(S0) Full Time recording when schedule starts working.

Motion Detect(S1) Motion Detect Recording when schedule starts working.IO Control(S2) IO Control will be invoked to control when schedule starts working.

E-Mail(S3) Enable E-Mail alarm when schedule starts working.

For users to set a period of time in schedule.

User can set the events to be started in the schedules.

Send To CenterFor Remote Center, click to enable Send To Center function.

DMIP ServerPlease go to appendix 1 to check how to build up DMIP server.

WebCam ServerFor Internet Browser, click to enable WebCam Server function.

TCP/IP ServerClick to enable TCP/IP Server function.

PDA ServerFor PDA Client, click to enable PDA Server function.

Notice: After above steps are processed, you must go back to System Settings and

click Start Monitor to start again.

[ ] Record

Click to show below list for users to start or stop recording manually.

Camera XXClick to start or stop recording on Camera XX

All Cameras Start RecordingClick to start all cameras recording.

All Cameras Stop RecordingClick to stop all cameras recording.

Notice: After above processed , you must go back to System Settings and clickStart Monitor to start again.

Please be noted, when Camera XX is to start recording, if Enable Motion Detect(Page 34) is not

enabled, now, it is full time recording for Camera XX. If Enable Motion Detect is enabled, it is

Recorded by Motion Detect. If Camera XX is to stop recording, even you Enable Motion

Detect, no recording for Camera XX.

[ ] Channel Switch

Click to show . Please click Auto Switch Camera to start channel auto

switching. After enable this function, the cameras viewing one by one will be shown on the preview

screen after every 5 seconds(default). For example, if your original cameras viewing

[ ] PTZ Control

Click to enter the control panel of PTZ as below. Please click to show the settings of PTZ.

Click to show the Preset settings.

Please select the PTZ module at first according to your used PTZ. Now we support four kinds of PTZ,

they are PIH-7000/7600, PELCO SPECTRA /, NICECAM MP-1800 & CANNO VC-C4.After this, please check the Address on PTZ cameras hardware setting and then confirm which com.

port connect with the control box. After correct settings of PTZ, then we can control well.

After PTZ settings, please select the correct camera number whos PTZ to control.

Move up Move down Left Right

Faster move ( 180 )

(Direction Control)

For users to control PTZ to Zoom-In or Zoom-Out.

For users to control PTZ to Focus-Far or Focus-Near.

For users to adjust Diaphragm more or less.

To Auto-Focus the PTZ camera.

[ ] IO Control

Click to show below diagram.

*Once your I/O device is connected, it will be shown on this panel, for the advanced settings, please refer to

I/O Settings at P.21.

[ ] E.Map

Click to open the E.Maps settings as below.

The map is default map for users reference. Please change to the map which you want to use by pressing

and then choose the file of map in saved disk.

After changing the map, now we can start to put the cameras on map.

1. Please select the correct cameras number and the words color here

2. Please select the camera in correct direction(for example ) at the upper right part and click it.

Then move it to map and point at a location to put the camera by clicking mouse.

3. If you feel the default size of the map is too small, please press to enlarge the map. Click again

to make the map back to default size.

4. If you find out that you have wrong setting, you can press to clear all you have seton map.

5. If no problem, please press to save and exit this E Map setting menu.

After above setting, you can view the specific locations image by this function. Just need to click some

specific camera on map and then you can see the preview window at the right side, it is sending the

video from the camera in that location.

[ ] Snapshot A Picture

Click to have a snapshot and shown as below diagram.

Click to close this window.

Click to save the selected snapshot to disk.

Click to delete the selected snapshot.

Click to save the snapshot for desktop.

2.2.5 Introduction of System Settings

Click and then press to enter System Settings as below.

There are lots of settings, the 1st one is System Settings.

Start Set Users can set the function started to work at the beginning after Login.Start MonitorYou must enable this function, because all functions

need it works first at the beginning after restarting the

Application Software.Multicast ServerEnable to start Multicast Server after restart software.

Web Cam ServerEnable to start Web Cam Server after restart software.

TCP/IP ServerEnable to start TCP/IP Server after restart software.

Modem ServerEnable to start Modem Server after restart software.

Send To CenterEnable to start Send To Center after restart software.

PDA ServerEnable to start PDA Server after restart software.

DMIP ServerEnable to start DMIP Server after restart software.

Schedule ServerEnable to load the Schedule setting related pgm in PC.So, the schedule setting can work now.

Enable Directdraw overlayEnable to improve the performance of

previewing of VGA restart software.

Auto-Login SettingEnable Auto-Login when restarting application.

NOTEAll above settings need to restart software to work.

Auto Send IP MailThis function is especially for Dynamic IP address, it can auto send Notify Mail to

whom in the Mail Address list.

Enable to send notifications when IP of Main Server is changed after login. Before

useing this function, please click to setup as below

Server Name The Server Name here will be shown on REMOTE site. When remote client wants toconnect this server, its easier to identify the server.

Users can change the servers name here.

Storage Set To set the location for recording files storage.Available XXXX MBThis function will auto-detect how many mega

are available in disk.

Minimum RetainThis function is for users to retain the disk space for

keeping the stable of operate system. Please set itbetween 500 MB to 10400 MB.

RecycleEnable to recycle the disk space.

Take the picture in left side for example: 6456 MB 500 MB

= 5956 MB. If you record the video files till 5956 MB, this

function will delete oldest video files and continue to record

new video image. (It will start when your entire storage disk is

full.)

Storage Path Setting(You only can set ROOT FOLDER, ex: C:\ or D:\ )

Click button to know the priorities of multi paths if there are more than 1 paths.

Video Format Set To set the Video Format and Quality.Video FormatIf you dont set the correct video format when first time

logining to this application, you can set it again here. It

supports NTSC or PAL video formats.

Video QualityIt supports CIF(320x240) & four CIF(640x480) resolutions.

Please note that higher resolution needs higher performance

of system.

Monitor Set To set the extra functions at monitoring.Start WDTCheck the box to enable WDT (Watch Dog Timer), but

please use the cable of WDT to connect to the right

connection.

Pre-Motion Detect RecFor users to set this application to record before

motion detected. Please set between 1 to 10

seconds.

Use Previous Preview : Enable this function will be able to view the

previous video for all channels. You can

move mouse to the lower area of some CH

display, and move the slide bar shown to see

previous view by the specified seconds.

NOTE(Pre-Motion Detect Rec & Previous Preview functions need more disk space and cpu loading forbuffer. Please do not set for too long.)

Notification Of Lost VideoEnabled to alarm out when video lost.

Select one in the list and

then click OK to add

Record Length To set the length of every single recording files.Max Record SizeFor easy search, it has to be divided for the video files,

this function is to set the maximum length of video

files between 1 to 59 minutes.

Auto-Patrol Set To set the interval time of Channel Switching.Auto-Patrol DelayThis function is for users to set the interval time of

Channel Switch [ ]. Please set between 3 to

20 seconds.

[I/O Settings] -- (~Optional~)

At first, please select your I/O device here. Now it supports

878 GPIO (PV-154) and PT-811M.

Check this box to enable auto-detect I/O device.

Please set the address of I/O device and press Setting or

you can press Get to get the address.

If you use external I/O box, please select the correct port the RS232 is

This above function is for users to set the action when the input ports detect something happened.

And then just select Record, Invoke Alarm Sound or Invoke Telephone.

Besides Input Port Control, it also supports Output Port control.

Please select the output port number and then select the

signal type is N/O, N/C, N/O Pulse or N/C Pulse.

(N/O:Normal Open, N/C:Normal Close) This is only for N/O Pulse and N/C Pulse.

[Hotline Modem and Message, Telephone, Center Login & DMIP Settings]

Hotline Setting This HOTLINE function needs available MODEM to dial out!!!A. Please select a modem from list, and it is connected with computer and its driver is installed.

B. Type the telephone or mobile number in .C. Finally please select the invoking message from below figure:

You can select or record WAV file in hard-disk. To record a new wav file, click .

To select an old wav file, click to find WAV file in hard-disk.

Center TCP/IP Server This function is for users to set a LOGIN ACCOUNT for Send toCenter.

DMIP To setup DMIP for Main Server to be used for remote surveillance.

NOTEAbout how to build a DMIP SERVER, please check Appendix 1 for detail.

[E-Mail Alarm Settings]

SMTP Please use IP address or domain name.

Sender Please input the E-Mail address of sender.

Receiver Please input the E-Mail address of Receiver.

Carbon Copy Besides receiver, if you want to send carbon copy to other email receiver, you can input

the E-Mail address.

Blind Carbon Besides receiver, if you want to send blind copy to other email receiver, you can input

the E-Mail address.

Subject Please add or modify the subject of E-Mail alarm.

NOTEIf any problem when sending out mail, please check

1. Close the firewall and test again.

2. The SMTP server cant accept anonymous login, please change SMTP or add Logon

information.

3. Each item of Receiver, CC and BCC can include 100 characters.

After finish above settings, please press this button to try if E-Mail alarm is

working fine or not. If not, please go back to check the settings again.

Normally, we suggest keeping this setting at 10 seconds. If

you set too short interval time of E-Mail sending, it will

cause some unusual problem.

Normally, we suggest to keep the default settings. For

advanced user, please setup according to system

performance and network transmission speed.

Please input the Account name & Password which are

verified for SMTP authentication.

This function is especially for SMTP

authentication. Enable(check) this function,

then it will be allowed to send alarm mail via

SMTP which needs pre-logon.

[Camera Settings]

This function is for users to do setting on individual camera.

Please input a name for camera.

Video Source To adjust the quality of Video Source.

Click to back to default values.

Click to apply the settings to

all cameras.

Click to choose Day and Night Time Settings.

*The end time of Day Time is the begin of Night, and the end time of Night is the begin of Day.

*You can adjust values by Day and Night respectively, if it is darker at night, you can enhance the

brightness.

Record Set To setup the Record settings.

Set for cameras record setting.

NoticeAudio Recording Function is only suitable for hardware with Audio supported. Ex:PV-143VPRO, PV-153VPRO & PV-157VPRO.

Users can adjust the quality of recording and .

The 2 Record Formats, MPEG 4 or Wavelet can be selected.

Users can adjust the volume of audio recording .

For Motion Detect + RecordingEnable(checked) will make this camera starts recording video with MOTIONS.

Motion Detect Set To setup advanced MOTION DETECT functions which included MASK.

SensitivityUsers can adjust the sensitivity of MOTION DETECT

by moving the bar right(Higher) or left(lower).

Mask AreaClick to change the color of mask. Click

and then drag mouse on below video window to add

the mask area on below window, click to delete

the mask area.

Click to erase all mask area.NOTEAny motion outside the mask will be ignored.

Enable MaskTo enable this function on this camera, please

check this box.

Monitor Setting To setup advanced MONITOR SETTINGS of this camera.

Display TimeThe OSD of Time will not be shown on

preview screen if disabling this item.

Display NameThe name of the camera will not be

shown on preview screen if disabling

this item.

Invoke IO PortUsers can select this camera to invoke

Input/output port for alarm.

Invoke Telephone AlarmUsers can select this camera to invoke telephone calling for alarm. If it

fails, the software system will shut down.

Invoke Sound AlarmUsers can select this camera to invoke sound alarm.

Send To CenterUsers can decide what kind of convey from Main server to Center server for this

camera.

Send To E-MailUsers can decide if E-Mail is sent or not.All of setting for other cameras settings are the same as the above setup, please set it according

to above steps

2.2.6 Introduction of Event List

Click to enter Event List(Playback System) as below.

At first, the default of Search & Playback modes is Single mode.

Therefore now we introduce how to playback under Single Search & Playback modes.

Please note that you must have already recorded video files before operating this function.

Now, please click to open all sub paths of recorded files . In this picture,

it shows that already recorded video files on June 25 & 29, 2004. Now we select , and then we can

see the video files list as below.

Save current playing video to another new file.

Snapshot a picture.

Exit playback system to monitor screen.

& To adjust the sharpness of video file.

& To adjust the brightness of video file.

& To adjust the contrast of video file.

P. S. : After you press the above buttons to adjust sharpness, brightness and contrast, please press thevideo file again to return to the default value if you want to return to the default value.

Click to repeat playback video file.

Delete current file in playback.

P.S.ForPLAY and Delete modes, you can select multiple files by keeping pressing Ctrl or Shift and

select the files by mouse.

Event SearchAll Rec Tyep All recorded files.

2.2.7 Introduction of Account Setting

Click and then press to enter Account Setting.

At first, we enter Account Setting, we can see theres already one default account in Administrator

of Group list. It can be kept, modified or deleted from Group list.

If you want to delete it, just move mouse to click the account in list and then press DELETE on

keyboard can delete it. Any change will be effective only when the same account next logins into this

software.

*To add a new one account, you just need to do as below steps

This setting is for users to set different account and password under different authority.

Please input or modify the User Name and

Password.

And then input an Level to the account in UserLevel.

Enable this function to allow the account to auto-login.

It is to disable this account, and only Administrator level can do it.

Click to show ****** instead of real password.

Click to show little keyboard to help inputting. (For non-keyboard PC)

Please set the Authority of this account by

selecting the functions shown left.

About how to set other authorities, please move mouse to it to select the setting page

2.6 How to use Browser (Internet Explorer) to do Remote Surveillance

2.6.1 SecurityEyes software provides Internet Browser as Remote Viewing Tool, so you can monitor with PC

and Internet Browser everywhere. The tool is underJAVA technology; therefore the browser you are

using, needs support JAVA. We took Microsoft Internet Explorer under WinXP for example to setup

step by step as following

2.6.2 At first, please enable WebCam Server and Start Monitor of Net Server on SecurityEyes

Main Server. And please remember the IP address, Account Name and Password which are set in

Main Server.

Step 1Open Internet Explorer. Key in the IP address or Domain Name of SecurityEyes Main Server

in the Address Bar as below picture.

Step 2If the IP or Domain Name of Main Server is correct, youll see a login window as below.

Input the IP address or

Step 5At first, if AUDIO PREVIEW function will be used, please install a tool program as following.

Click , then well see a prompt message on the screen

Please download and execute the component When you first time to run this program and

re-open Web browser. Component!!Please use mouse to click Component to install the JRP.exe file (tool program) as it is used at

the first time.

Step 6After click Component, below prompt box shown on screen. For user on Internet of high speed,

please select Run to install JRP.exe right away. For user on Internet of low speed, please select

Save to download and install JRP.exe later after downloading.

Step 7After above procedures, you will be asked if it is WinXP SP2 OS. Please click Run to continue.

Step 8After installation ofJRP finished, system will ask for you to continue and please click Continue

Then please restart Internet Explorer and then re-login to finish the installation.

Step 9After restarting Internet Explorer, the JRP tool will be installed into browser and it would provide

the AUDIO Preview function on Remote site. Please click to enable the AUDIO

function, and then please move mouse on and press RIGHT button on mouse. It will be

NoteThe audio will be delayed for little time, it

2.7 How to use PDA to do Remote Surveillance

2.7.1 SecurityEyes software provides Http server over PDA, so you can monitor with PDA for wireless

connection.

2.7.2 At first, please enable PDA Server and Start Monitor of Net Server on SecurityEyes Main

Server. And please remember the IP address, Account Name and Password which are set in Main

Server.

Step 1: You need connect PDA to some PC to do the synchronization to download the program

on PDA.

Step 2: And you should correctly set the PDA for wireless connection and start the downloaded

program.

Step 3Key in the IP address or Domain Name of SecurityEyes Main Server.

Step 4 : Key in Account Name and Password.

Step 5 : You will get preview display from Main Server.

Detailed Description of DMIP function.DMIP function is mainly to send the MAC address (Media Access Control Layer) of NICs (Network

Interface Card) from user client to servers database. After reboot, the IP changed but the MAC address

will not be changed or duplicated. Therefore we can update the IP after it is changed based on the fixed

MAC address. Finally we can realize internet monitoring when were using dynamic IP to connect with

internet.

QAfter I use IE browser to connect to Main Server, why I cannot see any video and it only shows X on

video window?

APlease go to the website of Microsoft to download JAVA Virtual Machine software, then install into

system and reboot PC. The installation is needed before IE browsing function can work.

QIm using Firewall or Router for my network environment. What PORTS I need to open for Remote

Surveillance software?

APlease open the ports as follows:

sure theres no problem.

AAbout Modem Server function on SecurityEyes Main Server, it only supports SecurityEyes_Remote

program. Please install SecurityEyes_Remote on Remote Client site to do remote surveillance program.

same time, please use different accounts for SecurityEyes_Remote and SecurityEyes_Multicast
