At present oil and gas complex industrial security gains in importance. The constant increase
of the number of dangerous facilities and productions of oil-and-gas industries raises the
security problem to the level of main priorities for every owner and the consequence is the
increase of interest in the modern systems of integrated security of oil-and-gas complex
facilities.
Every organization which exploits dangerous industrial facility, including oil-and-gas

FGDS is designed for total and permanent control of fire and gas accident in the facilities, enabling the GPU
and controlled areais used s-integrated system of aural and visual alarm desired to warn the personnel about
locating the intolerable concentration of flammable and toxic gas (oil gas and its vapors, hydrogen sulfide) and
fire sources.
FGDS activates the current level of safety shutdown, disabling the ventilation system and facilities,
automatically enabling the appropriate active fire extinguishing system while using the initiation mode through
the MCS and SSS systems.
FGDS is used for following functions:
- Locating fire sources;
- Locating intolerable concentration of flammable and toxic gas or oil vapors;
- Locating the ingress of smoke and gas into areas, where the dangerous situation may be provoked;
- Enabling the alarm signals including the location of any fire sources or intolerable concentration of gas on
information display devices, GPU and remote alarm panels;
- Generating the signal to activate the current level of technological process safety shutdown;
- Generating the signal to activate the disabling / enabling the current ventilation and condition systems,
locking the fire dampers;
- Generating the signal to enable the appropriate active fire extinguishing system to execute the fire isolation
and neutralization;
- Generating the signal to initiate the deactivation of fuel and lube oil pumps, explosion-unprotected electrical
equipment, combustion-air using facilities;
- Generating the signal to inform the personnel of dangerous manufacturing location through the prealarm
and general alarm systems as well as through broadcasting complex system informing about the risk of fire
breaking-out or intolerable concentration of flammable and toxic gas or oil vapors.

FGDS represents as three-level hierarchy system:
- The low-level of FGDS includes the data resources (automatic fire-detectors, fire call points, flammable gas
and oil vapor detectors, toxic gas detectors);
- The middle-level of FGDS includes the hardware and software complex system, which provides the
connection with the ACSS high-level as well as gathering, processing and supplying the information from
FGDS data resources, generation the prealarm, general alarm and control signals, automatic control and
system testing which provides the fast faultfinding in system;
- The high-level of FGDS is general for the whole ACSS system and consists of server, operator control
station, output data devices and remote panels.
