CRAC and Chiller Systems up to 118 kW
IT chillers and CRACs in conjunction with freecooling ensure efficient cooling and supply of the cooling medium.
Safety-relevant options such as redundant pumps, emergency cooling and buffer stores ensure maximum operational
reliability and fail-safeness.
LCP T3+ Maximum reliability with redundant cooling and power up to 24 kW
At the heart of the LCP T3+ are two embedded cold water circuits, each of which supplies 100% of the nominal cooling
output. The power supply to the fans also has a completely redundant layout.
LCP Plus - High density rack cooling up to 30 kW
Air/water heat exchanger, bayable with server racks based on TS 8. Complete unit with 30 kW useful cooling output.
The separation of cooling and rack prevents the ingress of water into the server rack, making it easy to assemble and very
service-friendly.
LCP Inline - Modular Liquid cooling up to 60 kW
Based on the LCP Plus design the air is delivered directly into the cold aisle rather than the rack. With superior resilience
modularity it is a perfect cooling method for cold aisle and hot aisle containment systems.
Vertical ventilation up to 3 kW
Ventilation base/plinth, roof vent and slotted component shelves ensure effective heat dissipation.
Horizontal ventilation up to 5 kW
A high air throughput, stylish design and outstanding security are provided by the perforated doors
(with 82% open area per door).
Hot Aisle Containment up to 10 kW
Separates the hot air from the cold. Utilising in line coolers the hot air is extracted and cooled to provide cold air to the front
of the server.
Cold Aisle Containment up to 10 kW
Traps the incoming cold air in front of the server inlets. Can either use inline cooling or CRACs to provide the cold air.
LCP Passive Retro-fittable cooling up to 20 kW
Perfect for dealing with any hot spots with in the Data Centre

Cooling
CRAC systems, useful cooling output 18 - 118kWThe CRAC system draws warm waste air from the top of your Data Centre, cools it either with water or refrigerant
in a closed heat exchanger, and blows the cooled, filtered supply air into the raised floor with overpressure.
Cooling
Fan Trays
When an excessive build up of heat occurs, fan trays are an excellent way to remove the
warm air from the racks.
All Rittal fan trays can be fitted during configuration or alternatively retro-fitted without any
disruption to the equipment within the rack.
IT Chillers
Especially for cooling IT applications, such as LCP or air/water heat exchangers.
Safety-relevant features such as redundant speed-controlled pumps, compressors
or buffer stores are the distinguishing features of these atmospherically sealed systems.
Compact design with control components in the front and air intake via both side panels, air outlet upwards.
Pressure-sealed system.
Digital thermostat for temperature control with setpoint and actual value display.
Monitoring interface with Rittal CMC-TC supported.
Integral automatic bypass valve.
Flow monitor.

LCP Passive Up to 20kW Cooling
To support existing air-conditioning systems, Rittal is now offering liquid based cooling
systems for retrofitting on server racks. The new LCP (Liquid Cooling Package) unit is based
on an air/water heat exchanger technology and solves the problem of high heat losses of up
to per rack. Without having to modify existing series of racks, the innovation can be attached
as an independent cooling unit to the rear doors of practically any rack - and while the rack is
in operation. The hot air, dissipated towards the rear by the servers, is forced through the air/
water heat exchanger by fan units and then expelled. However, connection to a circulatory
cooling-water supply is necessary before the LCP unit can be installed.

What is best, Hot or Cold Aisle Containment?
In short both systems do the same thing, they both raise
the return temperature to the cooling system, whether that
is CRACs or Inline cooling. Therefore it is the application
that decides which is best.
Cold Aisle Containment Key Points
Contains the cold air within the aisle
Increases cooling capacity to 10 kW+ per rack
Can either use CRACS or Inline cooling
Retrofittable in most cases (uses existing CRACS)
Takes up less space than HACs (not Inline cooling)
Hot Aisle Containment Key Points
Contains the hot air within the aisle
Increases cooling capacity to 10 kW+ per rack
Predominately uses Inline cooling
Can use CRACS but needs a hot air plenum
Non 19” equipment can reside in the cold aisle

Rittal Aisle Containment System
Aisle Containment overview
The Rittal Aisle Containment System is increasingly being deployed in Data Centres where the average power demand of each
cabinet exceeds 5kW. Effectively using roof panels and slideable doors at each end of the row which ‘contains’ the air within
the aisle. This prevents the cold and the hot air mixing which increases the capacity of the overall system to approx
10 kW per cabinet. The other benefit is that because the cold air is now being delivered directly to the server, the cold aisle air
temperature can be raised, this means the CRAC or Inline cooling (LCP Inline) system is a lot more energy efficient which
results in long-term energy cost savings.
Cold and hot air cannot mix, warm air does not flow into the cold aisle
The system can be operated with a much higher extracted air temperature.
Standard air circulation cooling units are operated at an optimum thermal efficency level
Key Components for Aisle Containment
The key components of containment (same for both hot aisle and cold aisle) system are very simple. Firstly you need to specify
the containment dimensions and secondly the cooling system required.
The containment system is made up of roof panels and end doors. The roof panels bridge across the aisle between the racks
and the aisle and doors then close off the aisle. The roof sections are specified on the width of the aisle and the width
of the rack that they need to be secured to. The end doors quite simply match the height of the rack.
The cooling system for cold aisle and hot aisle can either be CRAC or Inline cooling, both have their advantages and limitations.
With the focus on efficiency and energy savings, we recommend you to contact our specialist sales team to
specify and advise the best cooling solution not only for your application but also for your long term business needs.

Cooling
Rittal Liquid Cooling Package - Pefect cooling four times over
LCP Inline - Up to 60kW of cooling
The LCP Inline is designed for siting within a bayed enclosure at the rear of the device and
expelled at the front into the suite. The hot air is drawn in from the room or hot aisle room or
cold aisle after cooling.
LCP T3+ - Up to 24kW of Cooling N+1The heart of the new LCP T3+ system is a heat exchanger unit comprising two fully integrated
cooling circuits and implementing an intelligent controller concept. This further development
does away with all disturbance-prone air baffle systems and ensures cooling of the whole air
flow. This sophisticated design guarantees maximum availability, even if the one circuit is put
out of action, because each of the two cooling circuits is able to uphold the full nominal
cooling capacity of the system. The power supply, too, is configured with two active paths
and is maintained at all times thanks to the standard integration of a transfer switch. In case
of a power infeed failure, the supply is switched automatically to the second infeed within
fractions of a second, with no interruption to operation.

LCP Inline - Up to 60kW of cooling
In conjunction with the new LCP Inine, cold aisle containment is an enhanced option for the
efficient dissipation of high heat loads from server enclosures. With up to 60 kW per module
the LCP Inline integrates directly into the aisle containment and delivers cold air directly into
the aisle. It can be either used as a replacement to the CRAC system or as an assistance
for greater cooling capacity. With integration into the network, LCP Inline provides real time
update of the status of the cooling system. With SNMP protocol included LCP Inline links
directly with your NMS system to provide an additional holistic overview.
