NICE CREAMSIt may be Las Vegas, but this dessert destination doesn’t always have to be sinful. Located next to the Galleria Mall, Atomic #7 features organic, vegan and gluten-free options in addition to ice milks and ice creams. Guests create their own frozen or hot dessert by choosing cream, milk, rice, soy or almond milk, then sweeteners such as organic sugar or agave syrup. Custom flavors and mix-ins are the final step. Appropriately enough, Atomic #7 takes its name from the seventh element on the periodic table — nitrogen — because the company uses a patented atmospheric freezing process to create its ice cream. But those seeking a warm treat can opt for steaming hot pudding instead. Atomic #7 is a certified vegan, USDA organic and green business and all goodies are served in gluten-free homemade waffle cones or bowls nestled in eco-friendly dessert cups. Now that’s a guilt-free dessert. Atomic #7, 605 Mall Ring Circle #110; 702-458-4777. Open Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday, 1 to 10:30 p.m. Closed Wednesday. THE FOOD NETWORKMartini time? In Las Vegas? It’s not exactly what you might think. Chef Tina Martini, an internationally recognized naturopathic chef and wellness consultant, is hosting a live cooking show. “Martini Time With Chef Tina Martini” (and yes, that’s her real name)

is a one-hour production that treats the audience to entertaining and educational demonstrations, complimentary food and beverage sampling and cooking and entertaining tips. Four times a week, Martini covers topics focused on fitness, mind and body, such as “Some Like It Hot and Fast, Some Like It Low and Slow” and “Weight Loss Food for Lovers.” The show takes place inside a custom-built cooking studio in the M Resort’s buffet restaurant. “Martini Time With Chef Tina Martini,” M Resort, 12300 Las Vegas Boulevard; 702-797-1000. Showtimes: Thursday to Sunday, noon and 4 p.m. Tickets: $39.95. Call 800-745-3000 or purchase online at ticketmaster.com. TWILIGHT SAGAIt’s usually hard to tell what time it is in Las Vegas unless you’re staring at the sun, but The Signature Tower at MGM Grand is recognizing twilight with “Blue Hour,” a new elite poolside experience. The phrase “Blue Hour” describes the transition between day and night — or when the pool scene ends and the nightlife crowd kicks into gear. As the sun begins to set, The Signature Tower pool transforms into a plush DJ lounge adorned with cabanas, daybeds, floor pillows and lanterns, exotic cocktails and specialty nibbles. The dress code is relaxed yet sophisticated, and swimsuits and chic cover-ups are encouraged. The night begins with Happy

Hour from 6 to 7 p.m., and specials include pitchers of sangria for $15 and half-priced beer buckets ($17.50 for six bottles). The event takes place every Friday and Saturday between 6 and 10 p.m. through Labor Day weekend. The Signature Tower pool, MGM Grand Hotel, 3799 Las Vegas Boulevard; 702-891-1111. Blue Hour open Friday and Saturday, 6 to 10 p.m. PREMIERE PAMPERINGFor those seeking respite after a long week at trade shows, The Spa at Wynn is just the ticket. Boasting 45 treatment rooms, the ultraluxe spa offers massage, body treatments, facials and hydrotheraphy. Based on the five elements of Feng Shui — health, wealth, prosperity, happiness and harmony — the Good Luck Ritual Massage ($260) is The Spa’s signature treatment. This 80-minute massage combines heated Thai herbs, a lemon verbena and peppermint foot treatment, an ultramoisturizing hand therapy and a soothing wild lime botanical scalp treatment. If that doesn’t suit your fancy, The Spa also offers Shiatsu, Wynn stone, Thai, Arabian, couples and pregnancy massages ($160 to $260). Other popular exfoliation treatments include the Pacific Paradise Sugar Glow ($170) and Bamboo Lemongrass body scrub ($95). To renew dry skin, try the Royal Honey and Milk Ritual ($280), the Sake and Rice Body Treatment

($260) or the Dilo Kuli Moisture Renewal Treatment ($170). The Spa’s array of facials can be enhanced with antiaging, aromatic scalp and hydrating eye treatments. The Spa also has a fitness center equipped with a steam room, sauna, whirlpool and lounge. The Spa at Wynn, 3131 Las Vegas Boulevard; 702-770-3900. Open Monday to Friday, 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. ‘JERSEY BOYS’The Tony and Grammy Award-winning Broadway musical “Jersey Boys” premiered in Las Vegas in 2008 and is now the top-rated show in the city, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. It’s the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, from their days as blue-collar boys who wrote their own songs, invented their own sounds and sold 175 million records worldwide. The show features hits like “Sherry,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry” and “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You.” Guests can purchase the “Best Seats in the House VIP Package” that grants access to the custom-built theater through a VIP hallway, a full-color souvenir program and seats in the front orchestra. “Jersey Boys,” The Palazzo, 3325 Las Vegas Boulevard; 702-414-9000. Showtimes: Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday: 7 p.m.; Tuesday and Saturday: 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Ticket prices range from $67 to $147 plus tax. Call 866-641-7469, or purchase online at palazzolasvegas.com.

POOLTRADESHOW AT MANDALAY BAYThe Mandalay Bay Convention Center has a new pool for buyers to explore. The PoolTradeshow, that is, which is moving from the Las Vegas Convention Center. Featuring emerging talent and independent

designers like Heidi Roland, Cameron Hawaii and Destination Pin Up, Pool is joining MAGIC and Project at the Mandalay

Bay. “There is better cross-shopping with the shows at Mandalay Bay,” said Chris DeMoulin, president of MAGIC International.

THE INDIGO GALLERYMAGIC Marketplace wants to turn the Mandalay Bay Convention Center into a one-stop shop for

denim buyers with the launch of the Indigo Gallery in MAGIC’s Premium show. Intended to complement the rarefied premium denim labels showing at

Project, which is also housed in Mandalay Bay, Indigo Gallery is highlighting about 30 jeans brands that have moderate prices and/or wide distribution. Exhibitors

at Indigo Gallery include DKNY Jeans, Marithé & François Girbaud, Silver Jeans, Pepe Jeans London, Vigoss, Salsa Fits My Life and Lucky Brand, which is

making its return to MAGIC.

Boasting a 30 percent increase in the number of exhibiting brands from its launch in February, FN Platform will feature more than 1,000 footwear lines — including Marc Jacobs, Robert Clergerie, Geox, Hunter Boots and Stride Rite — for women, men, juniors and children. NOT SO DESPERATE HOUSEWIFEAfter selling on HSN for nine years, Seventies siren Suzanne Somers is readying the retail

expansion of her namesake line of fleece trenchcoats, Empire-waist knit dresses (left), ankle-zipped jeans, chain-link necklaces and other fashion pieces. The line is making its WWDMAGIC

debut in the White section. Wholesaling from $27 to $87, the misses’ contemporary line is designed by Somers and her stepdaughter, Leslie Hamel, a Parsons School of Design grad, who created costumes for Madonna in the Eighties and ran a denim label called Leslie Hamel Jeans. “Suzanne likes to call [her line] hip, sexy but not desperate,” Hamel said.

VANESSA WILLIAMS’ NEW BAGFour seasons of portraying a chic and cunning fashion

editrix on the TV show “Ugly Betty” has paid off for Vanessa Williams. The actress is planning to

unveil her first fashion accessories label in WWDMAGIC’s White section. Launching

for spring, Williams’ namesake line features handbags, clutches and organizers, all handmade

of skins from Italy with wholesale prices running from $70 to $700. The line is rich in details: snake-

printed napa leather adorns a nylon satin pouch (right), chunky amber beads

dangle from a leather coil and jewel tones catch the eye

in a tie-dye finish. Williams is scheduled to appear at WWDMAGIC on Aug. 17 and 18 to promote her line.

TESTOSTERONE IN SIN CITYTapping into the growing popularity of mixed martial arts, MAGIC Marketplace partnered with the UFC to sponsor the World Extreme Cagefighting title fight on Aug. 18 at the Pearl Concert Theater in Palms Casino Resort. In a highly anticipated rematch, Joseph Benavidez gets another crack at Dominick Cruz, who defeated Benavidez last year for the bantamweight title. “Having an event in conjunction with the WEC show reinforces [our] show,” said Chris DeMoulin, president of MAGIC International. “It brings more people to town.”
