SECTION - 12: NIRDPR TRAINING Capacity building of rural development functionaries is the primary task of NIRDPR. Training of functionaries involved in rural development on a regular basis is essential for effective planning and implementation of both anti-poverty programmes and area based programmes.
12.1 : This Table provides data on the training programmes organised by NIRDPR at the headquarters and regional centres during 2016-17.
12.2 : Temporal data (i.e from 1992-93 to 2016-17) on the number of training programmes conducted and number of participants who have attended the programmes are provided in this Table. The number of women participants is also reported.
12.3 : Category-wise number of participants who attended the programmes organised by NIRDPR during the year 2016-17 is shown in this Table.
12.4 : Data on International Programmes 2016-17 are presented in this Table.
12.5 : This Table shows the training performance of State Institutes of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj during 2016-17.

Highlights ● During XII Plan period, the number of training programmes and participants has gone up considerably.
The participation of development functionaries in the International programmes of NIRDPR has gone up multifold during the last decade.
● With the increased emphasis on involvement of members of civil society organisations, the participation of representatives from NGOs and CBOs has been gradually increasing in NIRDPR’s programmes.
