EtCO2 Data Dictionary SECTION 1: INTRODUCTION TO DATA COLLECTION SHEET 1. Please collect all of your data in the provided ‘Data Collection Sheet’ 2. The sheet has been broken up into two tabs to help expedite data collection: a. Center Information b. Demographics, (Clinical Data, Outcomes) c. Serial EtCO2 Values d. Serial Prehospital Vitals 3. For Demographics, Clinical Data, and Outcomes – each row will represent a new patient. Rows have been pre- labeled with patient IDs for your convenience. Should you need more patient IDs simply drag down the last patient ID and “fill series”. If you have less patients than the provided IDs please delete these before your final data submission. 4. For the remaining tabs (Serial EtCO2 Values and Serial Prehospital Vitals) – each patient will have multiple rows depending on how many of each item the patient had. For example, if a patient had three EtC02 Values and four sets of Prehospital vital sets: Study ID Date/Time EtCO2 Value EtCO2 Value *Note all ETCO2 are prehospital values 001 001 001 Subject ID Time SBP DBP HR RR SpO2 ETCO2 GCS Intubated Temp 001 001 001 001 SECTION 2: SITE INFORMATION 1. SECTION 4: Serial EtCO2 Vaues 1. Patient ID – when patients have multiple blood gases (as many of these patients will) the patient will have

multiple lines. 2. Optional MRN - if you would like to pre-fill MRNs to help with your data collection please do so. However, be

sure to DELETE THESE MRNS BEFORE SUBMISSION. 3. Variables:

Variable Type/Options Description/Additional Information

Date/Time EtCO2 Value

MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM (24hr clock) List the date//time when each individual EtCO2

EtCO2 Value Number Value

Enter number values for each EtCO2

SECTION 5: Serial Prehospital Vitals 1. Patient ID – when patients have multiple EtCO2 values (as many of these patients will) the patient will have

multiple lines. 2. Optional MRN - if you would like to pre-fill MRNs to help with your data collection please do so. However, be

sure to DELETE THESE MRNS BEFORE SUBMISSION. 3. Variables:

Variable Type/Options Description/Additional Information

Date/Time EtCO2 MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM (24hr clock) List the date//time when each individual ABG was collected

Vital Signs SBP = Systolic Blood Pressure, DBP = Diastolic Blood Pressure, HR = Heart Rate, RR = respiratory rate, SpO2 = oxygen saturation, GCS = Glasgow Coma Scale & components, Intubation Status for this set of vitals, Temperature in degrees C

Enter all pre-hospital vital signs. Please enter incomplete “sets”. For example, there might be five blood pressure readings and only one GCS score. Please leave BLANK if no value for that vital sign at that date/time

SECTION 6: BLOOD PRODUCTS – Enter all Blood Products from the ED through the first 24 hours. 1. Patient ID – some patients might not have blood products, there will be no row for these patients. Patients will

have a max of one row. 2. Optional MRN - if you would like to pre-fill MRNs to help with your data collection please do so. However, be

sure to DELETE THESE MRNS BEFORE SUBMISSION. 3. Variables:

Variable Type/Options Description/Additional Information

ED Blood Product #Units _____

Whole number The number of units of that type of blood product (PRBC, FFP, Platelet, given in the Emergency Department

Blood Product X hours #Units _____

Whole number The number of units of that type of blood product (PRBC, FFP, Platelet, crypo given from 0-X number of hours. This will be cumulative. So if patient received 2 units of PRBC in ED and 2 units in the OR at 3 hours after arrival the PRBC in 4 hour total would be 4 units.
