A INTRODUCTION OF THE EVENT The Final SEC-Tools Project International Conference was organized as part of EEBW 2008 Conference, November 12-13, Prague, Czech Republic (www.eebw.cz). Title: Final SEC-Tools Project International Conference

“EU Strategies in Municipal Energy Sector and Experiences of Municipal Energy Efficiency Projects”

Date: November 13, 2008 Location: Prague (Kaiserstejnsky Palace), Czech Republic Organizer: SEVEn, The Energy Efficiency Center (WP6 leader) Dissemination: The event was disseminated individually at national levels of the

project partners and at the EU level, and also as part of the programme of the EEBW 2008 Conference

Target groups: Representatives of municipal sector, representatives of public

institutions, energy agencies, wider expert public (energy auditors, journalists etc.)

Number of participants: about 65 persons Programme: The programme of the event was content from three sessions:

• EU Strategies in Municipal Energy Sector • Czech Good Practise Examples of Energy Savings Projects

in the Cities and Villages • International Experiences of Municipal Energy Efficiency

B PROGRAMME OF THE EEBW 2008 CONFERENCE The event was organized as part of a 2-day long conference titled “EEBW 2008 – EFFICIENCY – TOMORROW'S ENERGY SOURCE”. The conference was organized by SEVEn, The Energy Efficiency Center, with the aim to address the issue of how to achieve better energy efficiency from different perspectives (political, technical, organizational) and in different sectors and end-uses of energy including municipal sector. The 1st conference day was open November 12, by a plenary session with speeches made by prominent representatives of the Czech Republic, Netherlands, and multinational organizations (Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek, Dutch Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende, Deputy Minister of the Environment of the Czech Republic Ales Kutak, former Minister of the Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic Vladimir Dlouhy, Chief Economist of the Shell International BV Steven M. Fries, General Director of SKANSKA CZ Jindrich Topol, etc.). In the afternoon programme of the 1st conference day, other parts of the conference took place, as sessions:

• Scenarios of reducing energy intensity of the economy • Technological and regulatory issues in transportation • Driving Behaviour - concluding event of IEE project ECODRIVEN

During 2nd conference day, besides SEC-Tools event, second part of the conference was held the same time, as sessions:

• Financing projects in the area of the energy industry and energy services • Energy services in practise • Innovative solutions decreasing energy intensity • Low - energy architecture and energetics in the building sector

Before the SEC-Tools event again one session was held:

• Lighter Tomorrows for Households, Business and Street Lighting The final SEC-Tools project international conference contained following sessions:

D DISSEMINATION AND PARTICIPATION

D.1 Dissemination The event was disseminated individually at national levels of the project partners and at the EU level, and also as part of the programme of the EEBW 2008 Conference Each partner of the SEC-Tools project invited all potential participants in own country. F.E.D.A.R.E.N.E. managed dissemination of the SEC-Tools project conference by its newsletter, which was distributed to several thousands potential participants SEVEn organized dissemination of the event by several ways:

• individual webpage of the event (www.eebw.cz) • advertisements in magazines (6 Czech magazines, as Modern Municipality,

Technical Newsweek, etc.) • banners at websites (9 websites, as www.tzb-info.cz, www. sec-tools.cz,

www.svn.cz, etc.) • distribution of the event materials at another conferences and seminars • distribution of the invitation to the event by mail to more than 1.500 potential

participants

D.2 Participation For second day of the EEBW 2008 conference, i.e. the day of the SEC-Tools conference, the organizer registered 138 participants. It could not be selected only participations of the SEC-Tools conference, but there were more than 60 participants.
