BN13 3UT. 11.00 for 11.30am start. From The Chairman Judy Fun Walk I hope you and your dogs have been enjoying the good weather. Early morning and late night walking seems to be the ideal with a hose down for the dogs afterwards! The year began with the Open Show and Annual General Meeting in March. The show was judged by Rachel Pearce who found her Best in Show from the veteran class Champion Jokyl Captain Scarlet owned by Mesdames Jackson and Swash and handled by David Brand. Reserve Best in Show and Best Bitch was Crillee Carry on Baby owned by Jane and Rowland Turner. Reserve Best Dog was Oceanaire Beachcomber owned by Julie and David Brown and Reserve Best Bitch and Best Puppy in Show was Muliebrity Rilletta owned by Manuel Fernandez and Chris Purnell. Congratulations to all the winners. As usual our resident caterering committee member Joan Edwards provided us with a super buffet lunch. Amongst the visitors spectating at the show was an Australian Airedaler, Sue Henderson, who attended the show with Pat Crome and her daughter Brigette. At the Annual General Meeting all Officers and Committee remained the same with the addition of Gill Hill and Mick Speed who had been co-opted during 2012. Again I would like to thank the committee for the hard work behind the scenes of all the events that are provided for the members. Lets now enjoy the fine weather with the dogs and I look forward to seeing you at one of the forthcoming events. Elaine Johnstone, Chairman I hope you have all been enjoying the fantastic summer weather. What a difference with last year!! As always though the year seems to be rocketing by and before you can say Jack Robinson the winter woolies will be out again. Hopefully though the weather will be good to us during the Fun day on 14th September at Dorney Village Hall (see enclosed flyer for details.) Do come along if you can, we always have quite a lot of fun and there is a brilliant playground next to the Hall for any children to play. On 19th October we will be joined by the members of the Airedale Terrier Training Club of Rushmoor on our annual Autumn walk in Alice Holt Forest. Again, a very enjoyable event for humans and dogs. The SEATC will be representing the Airedale Terrier at Discover Dogs on Saturday 9th November at Earls Court 1. For several years now we have been told the event will need to move, but luck will have it that Earls Court is still being hired out in November. Long may it last!! The last SEATC event as usual will be the Championship Show at Bisley Pavilion on 1st December. Andrew Baker will be our judge. It was decided at the AGM that subscriptions would remain the same as they have been for the last few years, though entry for the Championship Show is raised slightly for exhibitors. I will be able to send out all information you receive in the post by email and if you prefer to get the info like that, would you be so kind as to send me an email, so I can check your email address is correct and up to date. I am still receiving membership renewals for this year, which is great. Your subs fall due on January 1st each year and I will send you a renewal form with the schedule for next year’s Open Show. I usually send these out in January. Hopefully we will see you at some if not all of the above events. Bobby Haly Hon. Secretary SEATC From the Secretary f We had a fantastic turn out for the Judy Fun Walk on April 28th 2013. We had around 91 humans and approx 45 Airedales. Luckily this year the weather was really warm and most people ate their ploughmans lunch sitting on the grass outside. As usual there were two walks, a long walk for the fitter two and four legged friends and a shorter walk for the young Airedales and people less energetic. Elaine Johnstone headed the long walk and her son Iain headed the short walk. Both were armed with I pads to plot the routes, it was inevitable that one of them would get lost. Yes you would think it was Iain who had never been on the walk before, but no it was Elaine who lost her Sat Nav signal on route and had to rely on one of the walkers with an Ordnance Survey map to help find there way back!! Elaine said “I thought that walk was longer then last year”. Yes it probably was? Anyway all back safe and sound and with big appetites. We had an excellent raffle table which was well surported. Thanks to everyone who attended and hope to see you all at the next walk in October at Alice Holt.
