Times for Timed Drying are approximate based on

average size loads. Actual time needed will vary depend-ing on size of load, weight of fabrics, and householdvoltage. Man-made fibers (synthetics) such as polyester, nylon, and acrylics should be dried on low heat.

Clothes dried in a dryer operating on a 208volt circuit in-...stead of a 240 volt circuit will result in longer drying time.

i_WARNINGi To prevent fire and serious personal in-

jury, do not use heat to dry foam rubber, similarly tex-tured rubber-like materials, or pillows and clothing with

Rinse at once, soak in diaper pail with solution of cold water and borax(V2 tsp. to gal.). Soak before washing with a pre-soak product andwarm water.

Plastic lined pants, bibs, crib sheets should be dried separately.Shake out dust. Removestains. Pretreat heavily soiled areas withdetergent. Wash one large or two small blankets at a timeFollow rnanufacturer's recommendations.Follow rnanufacturer's directions.

If badly sun-weakened, even hand washing will cause tearing. Be surecolors are fast and fabric is washable. Removehooks and non-washabletrim. Use Warm soak if heavily soiled.Do not wash or dry.

Requires regular washing. If required, use Warm soak.Turn slacks and dark items inside out to i_revent whitening and frosting ofseams and creases.

Pretreat collars and cuffs with liquid laundry detergent.

Pretreat heavily soiled areas by rubbing in liquid laundry detergent. Letstand 30 to 60 minutes. If clothes are heavily soiled use Warm SOAKforgrease and oil, Cold SOAKfor dust or blood-stained garments. Use 1/4 to

"_1_ cup liquid laundry deterqent in SOAK, 1/2 to 1 cup in WASH.

Frequent washing lengthens life, helps retain shape. Removenon-washable trim. Close zippers, fasten hooks. "Some plastics will tear if machine-washed. Drying TipsCONSULT CARE LABELS BEFORE DRYING ARTICIL.ES

DRY PRACTICALLYANY FABRICGenerally fabrics that can bewashed in the Kenmore LaundryCenter can be dried in the Kenmore

Laundry Center.Washables not recommended for

dryer: loosely woven or hand-knitted woolens and some rayonsand silks. (Check care label. Seewarnings below.)Be sure plastic buttons: and buckles

are heat-proof.When using delicate and permanentpress fabrics,-check for drynessafter minimum time suggested. If various types of fabrics are mixedin drying load, set controls forlighter weight fabrics and removewhen dry. Reset temperature forremaining fabrics.

GENERAL SUGGESTIONSFOR GOOD RESULTSAn average size washer load isusually a dryer load. Items that arewashed together can generally bedried together. Consult care labelbefore drying.

'_kCAUTION] Remove all items

flom garments and fabrics to bedried, such as=_facial tissues,

matches, crayons, oails, safety pins

or any metallic or hard objects

which might damage clothes or ap-

pliance.

• Close zippers, empty pockets,

fasten hooks and eyes to prevent

snagging.

• Put socks and other .small items in

mesh bag for easier removal.• Items to be ironed should be

removed while slightly damp.• Put damp dt:y items together in

one load.

• If drying sheer items',, start with acold drum.

• If drying only a few items, add abath towel or two to maintain

proper tumbling action.

• If desired, add a dryer fabricsoftener sheet.

• Remove and fold or hang clothesquickly to prevent wrinkling.

• Do not overload dryer. Clothesmust have room to tumble andbillow.

• Clothes (except permanent press)should be removed while they feelslightly damp. If they areabsolutely dry to touch, they are

too ,dry; over-drying increaseswrinkling and shrinkage, andwastes heat.

• To test for dryness, take garmentout of dryer and feel it in roomtemperature air. Clothes will feeldamper in warm, moist air ofdryer drum than they will in roomair.

• When using TIMED cycle, setminimum time shown on Control

Settings Chart (page 10).

USE OF FABRICSOFTENER SHEETSOver use of fabric softener can

cause buildup of softener inclothing, giving a greasy feeling.Buildup can also form on lint screenand restrict airflow. Softener build-

up on Lint screen can be removed bywashing in warm soapy water.

Buildup in clothing can be removedby:

• Reconditioning load with water

conditioner (follow package in-

structions),or

• Laundering several times without

using fabric softener.

_W_AR..__iJN__G_Fluorocarbon aero-

sol spray or pump fabric softeners

are not to be used in this dryer.

Damage resulting from use of this

type of softener can be considered

as misuse of dryer. Failure to follow

this warning can cause serious per-

sonal injury.

IAIR FLUFFUse Air Fluff to air bedding, dustdraperies anct slipcovers, fluffdecorative pillows, and freshenclothes that have been stored inmothballs or !n a "stale" closet.

Also use for safe drying of plasticand extra-sensitive sheer fabrics.

• Place items in dryer.• Set dryer timer to the last 20

minutes of Knits/Delicate cyclewhich provides no heat on AirFluff setting.
