All categories are added to the advanced search page after the installation is completed. To indicate what attributes can be searched by range, please go to admin area > System > Configuration > Advanced Search. All attributes, chosen for advanced search, are displayed here.
Please select here all attributes, that you would like to be searched by range (search by range will work only for numeric attributes).

Customers can search by range attributes, that are selected at the Advanced Search page in admin panel.
All categories and subcategories are displayed at the top of the advanced search page. Customers can choose any number of categories.
