FEAST OF THE HOLY TRINITY

Dear friends in Christ,

This weekend our Church celebrates the feast of the Holy Trinity. The mystery that proclaims that our God is a triune God, that means He is Father, Son and Holy Spirit to all of us. But these three persons are only one God. This is a mystery and it is hard to understand and even to accept it. There are many people who say they follow Christ and they don’t believe in this great mystery. How can they not believe when the Triune God is three persons and therefore if we are Christians we must be baptized in the name of the Triune God, the three persons that form the Trinity. Once a member of the Mormon Church told me that if the word Trinity was not in the Bible then there was no Trinity at all. One can only read the pages of the Bible from beginning to end to understand and see the mystery of the Trinity revealed by the Holy Spirit and then by Jesus himself, the second person of the Trinity.

This great mystery that we celebrate this weekend and in which we Catholics and most Christians believe is a mystery that helps us to understand who God is for us. During the time of Jesus public ministry one of the great things Jesus did was to proclaim that God was not something or someone abstract or unreachable. Instead he showed us that this God who gave us life and cre-ated us in his image and likeness is a Father to us. So much that when the disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray the words that came out of his mouth was when you pray say: “Our Father, who art in heaven.” Jesus by his preaching and the healing that went on in his daily life taught us that our God is indeed a Father who cares about us. So much that “God so loved the world that He gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him may not die but may have eternal life.”(Jn 3:16) This is how much God the Father loves humanity to the point of sacrificing his own Son for the salvation of the world.

God the Father sent his Son into the world precisely so that we can understand the relation-ship we are to be in with the Trinity. It is through Jesus to whom we can relate humanly, because he became one like us in all things, that we can address the Father through the power of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, we should never be afraid to come to the throne of the Father and in the name of Jesus with the assistance of t he Holy Spirit ask for whatever we need. Remember the words of Je-sus: “Whatever you ask the Father in my name he will grant it.” Therefore, It is good that we begin to establish a good relationship with God the Father. Jesus himself will lead us to him and will give us the Holy Spirit so we can cry out to Him in our needs.

Let us then, as we celebrate the feast of the Holy Trinity, acknowledge the presence of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit in our lives. The Three of them are at work in us because we have been baptized into the Triune God who is Father Son and Holy Spirit to them all glory and honor and power for ever and the ever. Amen.

I guess you are seeing light at the end of the tunnel. It seems that very soon you will be able to return to Church and with your

brothers and sisters celebrate the Eucharist with your priests. This is good news I hope and pray they are going to continue to manipulate the Church as I think they are doing. I kind of agree with some people who say that if other places are open why can’t you open the Church since you will follow the norms better than others are doing at this moment. I do want to tell you if you re-

turn soon, you need to be very patient with the priests and those who will be making your lives safer in the Church. They have new regulations and less seating capacity and so you need to understand that the norms and rules come from on high that means from the state level more than anything. Continue to pray so the pandemic may go away soon and you will be able to live freer lives together with your families and friends. In the mean time enjoy the nice whether you are having now because you might have a little more rain during the week. Ciao, woof, woof.

CORONA VIRUS AND USIt seems that we will return to Church this coming weekend. We must pay attention to what the norms and rules the parish and diocese is presenting us. As I mentioned before this is going to be a different ex-perience and you might not welcome it but we need to have patience and understand that it is for our own sake that we must keep the social distance, we have to wear the mask as we enter the church and we must follow instructions inside the Church so we are safe. Please know that people will enter Church one by one. You will be checked to see if you have the mask, then you will have your hands disinfected and then someone will direct you to a seat inside the Church. People can only sit in the designated and marked seats. The only time you will come out of the pew is at the time of Communion, if you are able to receive, and then at the end of Mass. Again, someone will come to direct you to leave the pew to go for Holy Communion and at the end of the Mass you will be directed when to leave the pew since we have to keep the social distance up to the end. Since we can’t take up the collection we will have the basket at the exit and there you can drop off your financial support, which is so needed for the Church and for which we are very grateful. There is no time for chatting inside the Church because you need to leave right away so we can disinfect the Church again for the next Mass. For the English Masses we think the Church will be enough for the sitting since it is going to have 135 seats. For the Spanish Masses we most probably have to use the church hall and will live stream. The people there will receive Holy Communion when the time comes. As you can see it is something that we will have to get use to and have a lots of patience and understanding with one another. Again thank you for understanding and let’s work it out together.

JUNE/ MONTH OF MANY FEASTS During the month of June we have beautiful feats that as Church we will celebrate. These feasts help us to enter more into the mystery of God and humanity as we are called to holiness of life:June first the feast of Mary Mother of the Church. June 7th the feast of the Holy Trinity. June 13th the feast of St. Anthony of Padua.June 14th the feast of Corpus Christi, the Body and Blood of our Lord. June 19th the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. June 20th the feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.June 24th the feast of the Nativity of John the Baptist. June 29th the feast of Saints Peter and Paul. As we commemorate the lives of the saints and of Jesus Christ let us be inspired to grow closer to God through their intercession.

WE ARE ON SOCIAL MEDIAOnce we return to Church we will continue celebrat-ing Mass during the week and on the weekends. You will see that our schedule will change a little bit to accommodate perhaps extra Masses for the commu-nity. But on Sunday we will continue to live stream the 10:30 am Mass in English and also the 12:15 noon Spanish Mass. We continue to have Mass every day at 10:00 am in English and 12:00 noon in Span-ish. We also continue with the Holy Hour that we have been doing since we closed the Church at 6:00 pm Monday through Friday. These are the links:

Fiesta de la santísima trinidad.

Por Padre Hernán Queridos amigos en Cristo:

Este fin de semana la iglesia celebra la Solemnidad de la santísima trinidad: el misterio que proclama a nuestro Dios Trino, que significa que es Padre, Hijo y Espíritu santo: 3 Personas en un solo Dios. Es un misterio y es difícil de entender y hasta de aceptar. Hay muchas personas que dicen que siguen a Cristo y no creen en este gran misterio. ¿Cómo no creer en el Dios Trino, si somos bautizados en nombre de las 3 personas de la santísima trinidad? Una día un mormón me dijo que si la palabra “Trinidad” no estaba en la Biblia entonces era porque no existía. Uno puede leer sus páginas de principio a fin y entender y ver el misterio de la Trinidad revelado por el Espíri-tu santo y luego en Jesús mismo, la segunda persona de la Trinidad.

Este gran misterio que celebramos este fin de semana y en el que como católicos y además también muchos cristianos creemos, es un misterio que nos ayuda a comprender quién es Dios para nosotros. Durante la época del ministerio de Jesús, una de las cosas más grandiosas que él hizo fue proclamar que Dios no era algo ni alguien abstracto e inalcanzable. Más bien nos mostró que ese Dios quien nos dio la vida y nos creó a su imagen y semejanza, es un Padre para nosotros, tanto así que cuando los discípulos le pidieron a Jesús que les enseñara a rezar, las palabras que salieron de su boca fueron: “Padre nuestro, que estás en el cielo”… Jesús en su predicación y sanación de cada día nos enseñó que Dios es un Padre que se preocupa por nosotros; “Dios amó tanto al mundo, que entregó a su Hijo único para que todo el que cree en él no muera, sino que tenga Vida eterna” (Jn. 3, 16). Así de grande fue el amor de Dios Padre por la humanidad, hasta el punto de sacrificar a su propio Hijo para la salvación del mundo.

Dios Padre envió a su Hijo al mundo precisamente para que pudiéramos entender la re-lación que debemos tener con la Trinidad. Es por medio de Jesús con quien nos podemos rela-cionar humanamente, porque él se hizo como uno de nosotros en todas las cosas, menos en el pecado, para que pudiéramos dirigirnos al Padre por medio del poder del Espíritu santo. Así que nunca debemos tener miedo de venir ante el trono del Padre y en nombre de Jesús, y con la ayuda del Espíritu santo a pedirle lo que necesitemos. Recuerda las palabras de Jesús: “Todo lo que pidas al Padre en mi nombre, Él te lo concederá”. Así que es bueno establecer una buena relación con Dios Padre. Jesús mismo nos conducirá hacia Él y nos dará el Espíritu santo para poder clamar a Él con nuestras necesidades. Entonces, mientras celebramos la Fiesta de la santísima trinidad, reconozcamos la presencia del Padre, del Hijo y del Espíritu santo en nuestras vidas. Los 3 obran en nosotros porque fuimos bautizados en un Dios Trino y a ellos el honor, el poder y la gloria por los siglos de los siglos. Amén.

Memorias de TonyPienso que estás viendo luz después del túnel. Parece ser que muy pronto podrás regresar a la iglesia junto con tus her-

manos y hermanas para celebrar la Eu-caristía con tus sacerdotes. Son muy buenas

noticias y espero y rezo para que dejen de manipular la iglesia como creo que lo están haciendo. Estoy más o menos de acuerdo con algunos que dicen que en otros lugares abrieron y por qué la iglesia no, si ustedes seguirán las reglas mejor que otros. Quiero decirte que si regresas pronto, tendrás que ser muy paciente

con los sacerdotes y los que se indicarán el proceso dentro del templo para mantenerte sano y salvo. Hay nuevas reglas y menos capacidad para sentarte así que debes entender que las normas y reglas vienen del es-tado y son en beneficio de todos. Sigue rezando para que la pandemia se vaya pronto y puedas vivir una vida más libre junto con tu familia y amigos. Mientras tanto, disfruta el bonito tiempo y cálidas temperatu-ras que tienen por estos días, pues a lo mejor tendrán un poco de lluvia esta semana. Chao, guau, guau.

LA PALABRA DE DIOS PARA EL PRÓXIMO DOMINGO

Fiesta de Corpus Christi(El Cuerpo y la sangre de Cristo)Lee san Juan 6:51-58 --¿Has sentido hambre de Cristo durante esta crisis de la pandemia?--Cómo participas activamente en el Cuerpo de Cristo en las obras de justicia y misericordia?--¿Qué significa para ti la Eucaristía? ¿Participas con reverencia cuando vienes a Misa el domingo?--¿Apartas tiempo para estar con Jesús en oración ante el santísimo sacramento?Gracias por prepararte para la Liturgia del domingo

EL CORONAVIRUS Y NOSOTROS Parece que el próximo fin de semana regresaremos a la iglesia. Debes poner atención a las normas y reglas que la Diócesis y parroquia te presentamos. Será una experiencia diferente y no te agradará mucho pero debemos tener paciencia y comprender que es por nuestro bien: mantener distancia social, usar mas-carilla para entrar al templo y debemos seguir las instrucciones dentro de la iglesia también para estar a salvo. Entrarán uno por uno; revisaremos que tengas puesta la mascarilla, te desinfectaremos las manos y alguien te mostrará adónde sentarte. Solo podrás ha-cerlo en donde se te indique y esté marcado. Alguien te mostrará el momento para salir de tu asiento para recibir la Comunión, si es que puedes recibirla y tam-bién al final de la Misa; en todo momento debemos mantener la distancia social. No haremos la colecta como se hacia antes, sino que dejaremos las canastas/cestos/canastillas en la entrada principal para que a la hora de la salida des tu ofrenda y ese apoyo financie-ro tan necesario para la iglesia y por la cual estamos muy agradecidos. No habrá tiempo para conversar dentro ni fuera del templo, deberás salir de inmedi-ato terminada la Misa ya que tendremos que desin-fectar todo para la siguiente Misa y el siguiente grupo. Para la Misa de español lo más seguro es que usemos el basement de la iglesia y verán la Misa por la trans-misión vía Facebook. Bajaremos a llevarles la Co-munión cuando sea el momento. Como ves debe-mos acostumbrarnos a todas estas cosas y tener muchísima paciencia y comprensión y no enojar-nos. Debemos cuidarnos unos a otros. Una vez más gracias por entender y por favor trabajemos juntos
