PART II: Information about the School’s Activity/Programme on Education for Disaster Risk Reduction The information of part II from no.1 to 11 should be no longer than eight pages long (A4 type, Arial font, size 11 point). Title of the school’s activity/programme on Education for Disaster Risk Reduction The name of the trip: ” SMALL SOLDIERS OF SACRED FOREST” 2. Summary of the activity/programme (a half to one page A4) The trip was made on 14 and 15 January 2012, five vehicles with about 250 teachers and students. Our location is central to the Department in southern Tay Ninh province, Ben Tre to about 250 km. Name the car is named after the precious woods: Christmas home, plug it back, shower, sand, ...

During the trip, we will hear the notes from the tourist guide on where we come, ask questions, take the test to find out how the importance of forest flora and fauna and for human life, watching and enjoy the beautiful scenery and fresh air of nature. Besides education students also life skills such as sense of discipline, team spirit in the competition: competition tent, cakes, costumes, participate in traditional games, sports competition , camp fire. The trip was so interesting and exciting that people do not want to go home and desire for early trips like that. 3. Background information or reasons why the school initiated this activity/programme Although locality where we live weather conditions quite favorable not badly affected by the storms, floods, cyclones, we noticed protection of forests and protection of flora and fauna ecosystem is important and urgency also consistent with the practical requirements and local conditions to contribute to reducing damage caused by natural disasters, and the students can expand the propaganda in the mass to protect nature. Recognizing the importance of protecting forests, protecting animal and plant ecosystem is critical and urgent also consistent with the practical conditions of localities.

One of the activities we found most effective to help students learn of natural fact that we organize annual trips combine resources to learn about the revolutionary base areas, historic sites to contribute love for the homeland and visit the camp in the forest famous in South Vietnam as Nam Cat Tien forest, Can Gio forest monitoring, forest Ta Thiet, South Central Office, ... 4. Objectives/goals of the activity/programme

Students are trained life skills: cooking, baking cakes, set up tents. Join the implementation of traditional games, sports competitions. Teachers and students articipate in a friendly and warm atmosphere.

After such trips, students participate in the trip will post trip reports over the radio program

of building schools for students to know the good results of the trip which reminds people to know the price value of forests and have the responsibility to protect and recreate it so that it becomes defense system certainly helps us to avoid natural disasters or eliminate the severe damage caused by natural disasters. 5. Period of time when this activity/programme was/has been implemented January 14,15 2012 6. Activities (Short-term actions and strategies of implementation of the short-term actions) The trip was made on July 14 and 15 January 2012, five vehicles with about 250 teachers and students. Resources used for implementing the activity/programme Funding from the funds of the parent activity funds were the school parents associations active in the beginning of the school year, from the regular army and from the trip participants. 8. Plan for sustainability: To maintain the power trips and field visits at least annually or once a year, selecting suitable sites highly educational.
