Control of the stroke length:

We have a gage bar that can be set on the moving jaws to set the stroke length of the sample.

Please see the picture below

You can see the measurements on the gage that can be set for the samples that you have. This

gage then rests on two locator pins on top of the machine. The gage is designed to meet the

standard dimensions of our customer’s specifications (GM, Ford, Nissan, and Toyota).

Jaws and jaw width:

You can see from the picture below that there are four jaws. Two are mounted on the center

moving portion of the tester, and they are fixed on those positions. There is one to the left and

one to the right. The width of these jaws is 90 mm to meet the widest requirement of our

customers. Please see the picture below.

You can use all or a portion of the width of these jaws as your test requires. The clamping

mechanism (which works with the knob to compress the sample across the entire width) is easy

to operate with a large knob to give you lots of force to open or tighten the clamp.

Adjustable Shelf Height:

At the ends of the tester are the arms that allow you to raise or lower the shelf height (the

shelves are inside the tester cabinet and not readily visible).

These arms can be lowered to meet the GM test requirement. To lower these arms you will

need to loosen the clam around BOTH of the ends of this handle. To do this, you need to

slightly loosen each of the three screws on each of the handles. DO NOT TAKE THEM OUT OR IT

MAY BE DIFFICULT TO RE-ASSEMBLE. Once you have loosened these clamps, the arm will lower

for the GM test. Reverse the process to return the arms to the upright position. See the photo

below for the set screws .

Mass Weight

The mass of our weight is 3kg. We measure this to +/- 2 grams, so the accuracy is very good.

Also, we have reduced the weight of the clamping mechanism as this could have an impact on

the test results.
