Due to enrolled children’s life threatening Anaphylactic Allergic reactions to
all nuts and peanut products, we would like to encourage families not to send
these products to school. with their children. These include peanut butter,
nutella, sesame seeds, loose nuts, muesli, nut or chocolate bars or any
products containing any type of nuts. We appreciate your support in this
matter.

What a fabulous night last night! Our presentation evening
was supported by a huge number of families and
community members and it was great to see you all. Well
done to all students who received awards last night and at
yesterday’s morning presentation. These events are the
culmination of a lot of hard work inside the classroom and
beyond. Thank you to Mrs Shelley Neilson for her work
behind the scenes ensuring that our presentation evening
was a success and ran smoothly. To our new school leaders
Brylee, Archie, Rebecca and Harper, congratulations on
your achievements and I look forward to working with you
and supporting you next year.
White Ribbon Day: Today we were fortunate to have
representatives from the Port Stephens area command to
help us share the ‘White Ribbon’ message. Our PBL core
values of being respectful, using positive talk and being responsible by
keeping hands and feet to ourselves really fit in nicely with the ‘White
Ribbon’ message.
The other important message that “White Ribbon Day” teaches primary
age children is that they need to be brave and ‘stand up’ and report or
‘speak out’ if they see something happening to someone else. This
might include a friend or family member being bullied, hurt or
harassed by others. At school we have clear processes for reporting incidents but out of school our
students sometimes aren’t sure who to report issues to or where to get help. Our visitors then kindly
gave all students a white handball and joined us for a fun game of handball in our playground.
School Assembly: Our final school assembly will be
held tomorrow. It will be a joint assembly including
class items from KL and Year 6 and our final PBL
badge presentation. Assembly will commence at
2.10pm. Everyone welcome to attend.
PBL Water Day:

Scholastic Book Club—2016: Hi everyone. Here we are at the end of term already and another
busy year at school over. For me, it is the ninth and final year of bookclub and for my family it will be
ten years of being part of the Seaham School community. I would like to take this opportunity to say
thank you to the staff of Seaham Public School for their support and encouragement given to those
who have been part of the bookclub team over the years, for their assistance with our fete stalls and
activities and the ongoing mentoring and support of our children in their reading journey. A big thank
you also to the families who continually support us through the purchase of books and offers of
assistance. Finally a HUGE thank you to the students of our school. The most wonderful part of my
role in bookclub was seeing the excited faces of the children and hearing whispers of “Yes, it’s
bookclub day!”.
Thank you to Rachael Rapson for taking bookclub into the future at our school and I wish her and her
team all the best.
For my family and I, it is now onto the next chapter. Thank you for the memories. Julie Vasic
