Join us for an adventurous trip along the wild, untamed west side of Andøya. You are invited to join our bird safari to watch white tailed eagles, gannets and puffins from aboard a safe and modern RIB boat. If you are lucky, you will also see coastal seals, harbour porpois-es and whales leaping in front of the boat. We cannot prom-ise that you will see a specific species, of course – this is not a zoo – it is the wild but you will never forget this close encoun-ter with nature and the ocean.During the trip, we stop by Bleiksøy, one of the most fa-mous bird cliffs in Norway with about 75,000 pairs of nesting puffins, auks and guillemots. We also make a stop at Forøya, where we meet the gannets, seagulls and cormorants.

Once the sun rises above the horizon in the middle of May, it remains until July 25 here in Andenes. There is nothing quite like sunny weather and the intense midnight sun glowing just above the horizon. It can be cloudy of course, but it nev-er gets dark and the scenery is an attraction on its own. Enjoy a relaxing and familiar atmos-phere, amazing wild life en-counters as well as a valuable education provided by marine biologists and the rest of our passionate and kind crew.

From May until September we have daily departures from Andenes harbour and the trip lasts 1,5 hours.

BIRDWATCHING

Bli med på en tur langs yttersida av Andøya. Vi in-viterer deg til å delta på vår fuglsafari hvor du kan oppleve lundefugl og havørn på nært hold fra våre sikre og moderne RIB-båter. Hvis vi er heldig ser vi også sel, nise og andre sjøpattedyr. Vi stopper ved Bleiksøya, som er et naturreservat og hekkeplass for ca 75 000 lundefuglpar. Andre sjøfugler er alke, skarv og lomvi. Men husk dette er ingen dy-

rehage, men ville dyr. Vi kan derfor ikke garantere hvilke arter som til en hver tid kan dukke opp, men vi tør likevel garantere en opplevelse utenom det vanlige. Nyt en avslappende atmosfære, et fantas-tisk dyreliv samt verdifull informasjon fra vår ma-rinbiolog og resten av vårt dedikerte mannskap. Turen varer 1,5 timer og vi har flere daglige avgan-ger fra Andenes i perioden mai til september.

Forespør oss om overnatting i Sea Safari Brygga på Andenes. Følg veien til fyret og du vil finne vår hvite brygge og resepsjon på sjøsiden. Vi tilbyr overnatting i 6 koselig innredede dobbeltrom. To av rommene har eget bad, mens de andre deler felles toalett- og dusjfasiliteter. Vi har åpent hele året. Frokost serveres på forespørsel.

Stay in Sea Safari Brygga located on the harbour side in Andenes. Follow the road to the lighthou-se and on sea side you will find our typical white building and reception. We offer a stay in 6 cozy decorated double rooms. Two of the six rooms have their own small bathroom, while the other 4 rooms share joint toilet- and shower facilities. We are open all year. Breakfast is served upon request.

WHALE WATCHING

Join us for a trip on the open sea, admiring the amazing diver-sity of both baleen and toothed whales off Andenes. While Or-cas, Fin- and Humpback whales are around from November till March, in the Summer the most common sightings are the sperm whales, who are here the whole year round. The sight of a sperm whale is really an overwhelm-ing experience. It is the largest toothed whale in the world and can grow up to 20.5 metres long and weighing up to 57,000 kilo-grams! Along the way, our expe-rienced and passionate crew tells

you about whales and the area. We guarantee an exciting and safe experience! Safety on board is our top priority. On safari trips, you will be equipped with a float-ing suit and safety vest. Duration of the trip is about 3 hours.

Our boats have a capacity of 12 with a total of 24 passangers. Two daily departures from May till September. 1-2 daily departures from November until March. The trip is weather dependent and due to number of passengers we advice you to book in advance.


EN OVERVELDENDE OPPLEVELSE:

OPPLEV HVAL PÅ NÆRT HOLD!Bli med oss på det åpne havet og opplev mangfoldet av bar-dehvaler og tannhvaler utenfor Andenes. Spekkhoggere, finn-hval og knølhval kan du oppleve fra november til mars. I som-mer halvåret er det imidlertid spermasetthval som dominerer havet, men vi kan også møte på andre arter som f.eks. spekk-hoggere og delfiner. Synet av en spermasetthval er en over-veldende opplevelse. Verdens største tannhval kan bli opptil 20 meter lang og veier hele 57 tonn! Vi setter fokus på sikker-het om bord i våre båter. På tu-

rene får du utlevert flytedrakt og redningsvest. Med på våre turer er et sertifisert mannskap bestående av en skipper og en guide, som vil gjøre sitt beste for at du skal få en best mulig opplevelse. Våre båter har en kapasitet på 12 personer, totalt 24 personer.

Vi har 2 daglige avganger fra mai til september og 1-2 dagli-ge avganger i perioden novem-ber til mars. Turen varer 2,5 til 3 timer og er væravhengig. På grunn av få plasser anbefaler vi å forhåndsbooke.

UNDERWATER WHALE WATCHING:

SNORKELING WITH THE ORCAS AND HUMPBACK WHALES Join us for an extreme lifetime expe-rience! Late Autumn a large number of orcas, humpbacks and fin whales follow the herring in to the And-fjord at the east side of the island. This gives us the opportunity to offer whale trips also in the Winter. We provide dry suits and other snor-keling equipment. Before entering the sea we also inform you on ways to approach these big animals in a respectful way. We do however

remind you that these are wild animals and a cold, arctic sea and entering the water is therefore not for everyone to do. You should be in good health and have prior snorke-ling experience.

The trips last around 2,5 to 3 hours. Daily departures from late Novem-ber until the beginning of March.

Bli med oss og få en opplevelse for livet! Sent på høsten følger spekkhoggere, knølhval og finnhva-ler silda inn Andfjorden på Andøyas østside. Det-te gjør det mulig for oss å ta deg med ut på havet også i vinterhalvåret. Vi sørger for tørrdrakter og annet utstyr for snorkling. I tillegg gir vi en innfø-ring i hvordan du på en respektfull måte kan nær-

me deg hvalene før du endelig er klar for å hoppe i havet. Vi minner imidlertid på om at dette er vil-le dyr i kaldt, arktisk havklima, og at dette er en aktivitet som ikke egner seg for alle. Du bør være ved god helse og ha god erfaring med snorkling fra før. Turen varer 2,5 til 3 timer. Daglige avganger fra slutten av november til begynnelsen av mars.

GENERELL INFORMASJON: Vi har to RIB-båter (rigid-in-flatable boats). Båtene bringer deg nærmere havflaten og dermed også nærmere hvalene, noe som gir en unik mulighet til å se disse store dyrene på deres eget nivå.

Ta med varme klær og egnet skotøy. Vi serverer kaffe, te og kjeks før og etter alle turene. Etter hvalsafariturene serverer vi i tillegg hjemmelaget suppe og nybakte brød.

Oppmøte 30 minutter før avgang. På grunn av begrensede plasser anbefaler vi å reservere plass på forhånd. Alle våre turer er væravhengige. Kontakt oss for nærmere infor-masjon og/eller booking.

GENERAL INFORMATION: We have two open RIB boats (rigid-inflatable boats). This brings you closer to the sur-face and closer to the whales, which gives you a unique view of these huge animals at their own level.

Bring warm clothes and proper shoes. We serve coffee, tea and biscuits before and after all the trips. After the whale watching trips we also serve homemade soup and freshly made bread.

You should arrive at our reception 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure. Due to the limited space we rec-ommend you to book your trip in advance. Our trips are weather dependent. Contact us for further information and/or booking by telephone or e-mail.

ANDØY LIGGER PÅ 69° N, og er den nordligste kom-munen i Nordland fylke. På grunn av sin beliggenhet under nordlysovalen, langt nord for polarsirkelen, har Andøy større nordlysaktivitet enn de fleste andre ste-der på den nordlige halvkule. Dette gir deg en unik mulighet til å oppleve det fantastiske nordlyset, etter en opplevelsesrik dag på havet.

Om vinteren arrangerer vi forskjellige foto-safarier. Vi gir deg muligheten til å ta verdens beste naturbilder, og viser deg de beste stedene på øya for å ta bilder av nordlyset. Vi arrangerer også ørne/elg- og reins-dyrsafari.

ANDØY IS ON 69° N, and is the northernmost munic-ipality of Nordland county. Because of its location un-der the auroral oval, far above the Arctic Circle, Andøy has greater auroral activity than most other places in the Northern Hemisphere. This gives you a lifetime opportunity to experience the amazing Northern Lights after a day on sea with the whales.

During Winter we organize different photographer trips. We give you the opportunity to take the best wildlife pictures, and we will show you the best spots on the island to take pictures of the Aurora Borealis. We also organize eagle/moose and reindeer safaris.
