Description Sea Asparagus shoots are 2 to 4 inches in length and 1/8 inches in diameter. Segmented along the main stem, with small side branches and a spear on top giving it the name. Vividly medium to deep green. Crisp with a salty flavor. Shelf Life The shelf life of this product is approximately 14 days. It is best stored in a cooler away from fresh water. May also be frozen or pickled for future use. *Note blanch lightly before freezing. It will soon be time once again for a seasonal treat from the ocean. Sea Asparagus, also known as Samphire, is found along the coast of British Columbia. Harvested seasonally by hand on Vancouver Island, this marine plant is primarily known for it's vivid green color and salty flavor.
