And so we come to the end of another week in 2011, grateful that the

property market is now in much better shape than it was 12 months ago

and full of good expectations for the next 12. Interest rates are at a 30-year

low and the economists are predicting that home price growth, which has

slowed somewhat in recent months, will pick up again towards the middle

of 2011.

There is good news, too, on the macro-economic front. Although GDP

growth only reached 2,6% in the third quarter of 2010, we need to

remember that this is three times higher than it was a year ago - and way,

way off the -7% low experienced in the second quarter of 2009. We've come

a very long way in a relatively short time and are poised to do even better as

household debt keeps on shrinking and consumers are able to start

spending again.
