WESTERN CAPE 2010 GROWTH REPORT 

 

South African Tourism (SAT) has released their Q2 2010

Report. According to this report, the Western

 

Cape experienced a 41.2% growth with 374,305 tourist

arrivals in Q2 2010. There has also been an increase in

the Total Foreign Direct Spend (43.6%) where the province

achieved R5.6 billion.  SAT started a new series of 

quarterly reports, thus the Destination Performance report

deals with tourist arrivals rather than international arrivals.

should therefore not be confused with international

arrivals.

current favourable environment, financial services provider

ooba said on Tuesday.

"This is likely to be at a reduced rate than the level of

growth recorded last year, however with interest rates

remaining at historically low levels home buyers are being

urged to take advantage of the current environment to

secure a favourable home loan," the company's chief

operating officer Rhys Dyer said in a statement.

2010 PROPERTY PRICES HIGHER THAN 2009

 

The average house price in 2010 was over six percent

higher than the previous year, according to the

December FNB House Price Index released on

Monday.

"The average price level was estimated to be 6.7

percent higher than the 2009 average price level, which

translates into a real price average that was 2.3 percent

higher in 2010 than in 2009, when taking the first 11

months of 2010 into account," said John Loos, FNB

Home Loans strategist, in a statement.

For December, the year-on-year rate of increase in the

FNB House Price Index was 3.6 percent, which was

unchanged from the November revised rate.

WESTERN CAPE 2010 GROWTH REPORT 

 

South African Tourism (SAT) has released their Q2 2010

Report. According to this report, the Western

 

Cape experienced a 41.2% growth with 374,305 tourist

arrivals in Q2 2010. There has also been an increase in

the Total Foreign Direct Spend (43.6%) where the province

achieved R5.6 billion.  SAT started a new series of 

quarterly reports, thus the Destination Performance report

deals with tourist arrivals rather than international arrivals.

should therefore not be confused with international

arrivals.

Residential property prices will achieve modest growth

this year, and home buyers should take advantage of the

current favourable environment, financial services provider

ooba said on Tuesday.

"This is likely to be at a reduced rate than the level of

growth recorded last year, however with interest rates

remaining at historically low levels home buyers are being

urged to take advantage of the current environment to

secure a favourable home loan," the company's chief

operating officer Rhys Dyer said in a statement.

PROPERTY PRICE GROWTH FOR 2011

2010 PROPERTY PRICES HIGHER THAN 2009

 

The average house price in 2010 was over six percent

higher than the previous year, according to the

December FNB House Price Index released on

Monday.

"The average price level was estimated to be 6.7

percent higher than the 2009 average price level, which

translates into a real price average that was 2.3 percent

higher in 2010 than in 2009, when taking the first 11

months of 2010 into account," said John Loos, FNB

Home Loans strategist, in a statement.

For December, the year-on-year rate of increase in the

FNB House Price Index was 3.6 percent, which was

unchanged from the November revised rate.
