InordertoregisteranapplicationontheSDLdeveloperportal,youmustfirstcreatebothadeveloperandcompanyprofile.DeveloperProfileRegistrationTocreateadeveloperprofile,clicktheusericoninthetoprightcornerofhttps://smartdevicelink.com/.Thisisthesameiconyouwillclicktologinuponfuturevisits.

Registerbycompletingtheform,orconnectingviayourGitHuborGoogleaccount.

Aftercompletingtheform,youwillreceiveanemailfromsupport@smartdevicelink.comtoverifyyouremailaddress.Youwillneedtoclickthe“VerifyEmail”buttoninordertocompletedeveloperprofileregistration.

Afterclickingthe“VerifyEmail”button,yourdeveloperprofilehasbeencreated!Youcanthenproceedtoregisteracompany,oraccessthedeveloperportal.Toregisteracompany,clickthe“Yes,ProceedtoCompanyRegistration”button.Doingthiswilltakeyoudirectlytothecompanyregistrationform,describedonpage4ofthisguide,soyoucanskipthestepsdescribedonpage3.

CompanyProfileRegistrationOnceyourdeveloperprofilehasbeencreated,youcanregisteracompanyprofileatanytimebyclicking“Companies&Apps”intheleftnavigationofyourdeveloperprofile.Toaccessyourdeveloperprofile,clicktheusericoninthetoprightcornerofhttps://smartdevicelink.com/.

Clickthe“RegisterNewCompany”buttontocontinue.

Provideyourcompanynameandcompanyemailaddressinthecompanyregistrationform,andthenclickthe“SubmitforApproval”button.

Aftersubmittingtheform,youwillreceiveanemailfromsupport@smartdevicelink.comtoverifythecompanyemailaddressyouprovided.Youwillneedtoclickthe“VerifyEmail”buttoninordertocontinueyourcompanyprofileregistration.NOTE:thisisonlyrequiredifyourcompanyemailaddressisdifferentfromyourdeveloperprofileemailaddress.

Afterverifyingyourcompanyemailaddress,youwillhavetheoptiontoprovideyourjobtitleand/orbusinessphonenumber.Provideifdesired,thenclickthe“SubmitforApproval”buttontocompletecompanyprofileregistration.

Youwillreceiveasuccessmessageaftersubmission.

Onceyourcompanyprofileregistrationhasbeenprocessed–eitherbytheSDLCorbyamemberofyourcompanyifyourcompanywasregisteredpreviously–youwillreceiveanemailfromsupport@smartdevicelink.comwiththestatusofyourapplication.Youcanalsocheckonthestatusofyourapplicationbyaccessing“Companies&Apps”fromyourdeveloperprofile.

Afteryourcompanyhasbeensuccessfullyregistered,yourcompanyprofilecanbeaccessedbyclicking“Companies&Apps”fromyourdeveloperprofile.Fromhere,youcanseetheusersbelongingtoyourcompanyaswellasanyapplicationsregisteredunderyourcompany.

ApplicationRegistrationPleasenotethatregisteringanapplicationandobtaininganAppIDisnotrequiredtobuildortestyourapp.Itwillonlybeneededwhenyourappisreadytoworkwithaproductionheadunitoramodulethatisemployingpolicyenforcement.Onceyourcompanyprofilehasbeencreated,youcanregisterapplicationsunderyourcompany.Toaccessyourcompanyprofile,clicktheusericoninthetoprightcornerofhttps://smartdevicelink.com/,thenselectthecompanytowhichtheapplicationshouldbelong.

IfyouareaLevel1–4SDLCMember,hoveroverthe“Apps”tabinyourcompanyprofile,andselect“MyApps”fromthedropdown.

IfyouareaLevel5SDLCMember,simplyselect“Apps”withinyourcompanyprofile.

Therearetwodifferentwaystoregisteranapp,dependingonyoursituation.IfyoupreviouslyregisteredyourappviaanothermeansandalreadyhaveanApplicationID,clickthe“Clickhere”hyperlinkinthetext.

Ifyouhavenotyetregisteredyourapp,clickthe“RegisteraNewApp”buttontoregisteryourapp.

Inthe“OEMAllowances”sectionoftheform,youcanselectwhichOEMsyouwouldliketomakeyourapplicationinformationvisibleto.YoucanallowallcurrentandfutureSDLCMemberOEMsappaccessbycheckingthecheckbox,oryoucanselectspecificOEMsfromthedropdownmenu.

Onceyouhavecompletedtheformwithyourapplicationinformation,clickthe“RegisterApp”buttonatthebottomofthepage.

Youwillreceiveasuccessmessageoncetheapplicationhasbeenregistered,andbeabletoviewyourapplicationinformation,includingyourApplicationID.

Pleasenote,makingchangestothe“AppInfo”pageafteryourapplicationhasbeencertifiedwillrequirere-submissionofyourappforcertification.ApplicationCertificationWhenyourapplicationisreadyforSDLCCertification,click“Edit”nexttoyourapplication.

Next,clickon“Certification”towardthetopofthepage.

Youwillreceiveasuccessmessageoncetheapplicationhasbeensubmittedforcertification.Itisimportanttorememberthattheformwillbeinalockedstatewhileinreview.

Tostayinformedthroughouttheprocessofyourreview,clickon“Status”towardthetopofthepage.

Pleasenote,the“Status”willchangedependingonwhichstageyourapplicationisinduringcertificationreview.Theapplication’sOptionalTechnicalContactorCompanyAdmin(ifnoOptionalTechnicalContactislisted)willbenotifiedviaemailwhentheapplicationisapprovedordeniedbytheSDLC.

AdditionalInformationAcceptingNewUsersOnceacompanyhasbeencreated,requestsfromnewuserstojointhecompanywillneedtobeapprovedbymembersofthecompany.Aniconwillappearnexttothe“Users”tabinyourcompanyprofileiftherearependingrequestsfromuserstojoinyourcompany.Totakeaction,clickonthe“Users”tab.

Next,selecttheuserandchoosetoeither“ApproveUser”or“Deny”.Theuserwillbenotifiedviaemail([email protected])ofthisaction.

InvitingNewUsersOnceacompanyhasbeencreated,membersofthecompanycaninvitenewuserstojoin.Todoso,clickonthe“Users”tabinyourcompanyprofile,andthenclickthe“InviteUsers”button.

Providetheemailaddress(es)fortheuser(s)youwouldliketojoinyourcompanyandclickthe“SendInvites”button.Userswillreceiveanemailfromsupport@smartdevicelink.comwithaninvitationtojoin.ChangingRegistrationFormafterCertificationIfyoumakeanychangestoyourapplicationregistrationform(“AppInfo”)afteryourapplicationhasbeencertifiedbytheSDLC,youwillneedtore-submityourapplicationforSDLCcertification.ThisincludeschangingyourapplicationregistrationformtoselectadditionalOEMAllowanceswithwhomyou’dliketograntappinformationaccessviaSHAID.Afteralldesiredchangesaremadeonyourregistrationform,click“UpdateApp”atthebottomofthepage.

Youwillbeprovidedwiththefollowingpop-upinformingyouofthere-certificationrequirements.Pleaseclick“OK”tocontinue.

Theapplicationthatrequestedyourreviewwilldisplayunderthe“ChampionReviews”section.

Selecttheapplicationtogainappinformationrequiredtoreview.DownloadtheSelfCertificationFormprovidedbytheapplicationdeveloper.Then,performyourreviewoftheapplicationbygoingthroughtheAppCertificationGuidelines(reviewform)andtestingtheapplicationusingSDLCoreCertifiedhardware.Onceyourreviewiscomplete,uploadyourcompletedreviewform,andthenselect“ApproveCertification”or“DenyCertification”basedonyourreviewresults.

Youcanalsoselect“Idon’twanttoreviewthisapp”whichwillsendtheapplicationbacktothe“ReviewRequests”queueforallOEMAppChampions.

Onceanapplicationhasbeenapprovedordenied,theSDLProjectMaintainerwillverifythatallinformationiscompleteandaccurate,andofficiallymarktheapplicationasapprovedordeniedforcertification.Anemailwillthenbesenttotheappdeveloperwiththeresults.Flow2–Applicationhasrequestedreview,butdidnotspecifyanOEMAppChampionIfanapplicationdeveloperdoesnotselectaspecificOEMastheirAppChampion,allOEMswhoareSDLCoreCertifiedandhaveoptedintoreviewapplicationsonbehalfoftheSDLCwillreceiveanemailnotifyingthemthatanapplicationhasrequestedSDLCCertification.NotethatthiswillonlyapplytoOEMSthatanappdeveloperhasselectedasan“OEMAllowance”ontheirappregistrationform.

Selecttheapplicationtogainappinformationrequiredtoreview.DownloadtheSelfCertificationFormprovidedbytheapplicationdeveloper.Then,performyourreviewoftheapplicationbygoingthroughtheAppCertificationGuidelines(reviewform)andtestingtheapplicationusingSDLCoreCertifiedhardware.Onceyourreviewiscomplete,uploadyourcompletedreviewform,andthenselect“ApproveCertification”or“DenyCertification”basedonyourreviewresults.

RegistrationandCertificationFAQs• WhoinitiatestheChampionrelationship?

o AnOEMwhoisSDLCoreCertifiedoptsintobean“OEMAppChampion”ontheircompanyprofileandtheappdevelopercanthenselectthatOEMastheirAppChampionintheirappcertificationrequest.TheOEMcanthendecidewhetherornottheywanttobetheAppChampionfortheappandreviewitonbehalfoftheSDLC.

• HowdoesanOEMAppChampioncontacttheappdeveloper?o TheappdevelopermaychoosetoprovideaTechnicalContactemailaddress

whenregisteringanapplication.Ifprovided,thisisaddressissharedwiththepartyreviewingtheapplicationonbehalfoftheSDLC.IfTechnicalContactisnotavailable,thereviewerwillhaveaccesstotheemailaddressassociatedwiththecompanythatregisteredtheapplication.

• AsanOEM,doesSDLCoreCertificationneedtobeperformedforeachIVIsystem?o It’srecommendedthatOEMscompletetheCoreCertificationGuidelinesfor

eachoftheirIVIsystems.ThiswillhelptoensurethatallapplicationscertifiedbytheSDLCwillworkwitheachoftheIVIsystems.InthecontextofSDLCApplicationCertification,anOEMonlyneedstohaveatleastoneIVIsystemthatisSDLCoreCertifiedinordertobeanAppChampion.TheymustusethatIVIsystemwhenreviewingapplicationsonbehalfoftheSDLC.

• DoesSDLCAppCertificationrequiretestingwithallIVIsystems?o No,SDLCAppCertificationonlyrequirestestingagainstonecertified

implementationofSDLCore.TheadvantageoftheSDLCoreandSDLAppCertificationGuidelinesisthattheyworktogether.Therefore,anappthathaspassedSDLCCertificationshouldworkonanycertifiedimplementationofSDLCore,andanyIVIsystemthathaspassedSDLCoreCertificationshouldbeabletosupportanapplicationthathaspassedSDLCAppCertification.ItisstillrecommendedthatOEMsandappdeveloperstestwitheachIVIsystem,buttheyshouldfindfewerissuesifthesebaselinecertificationshavefirstbeenmet.

• HowdoesthisprocessworkforOEMswhoareunabletoreviewapplications?o AnOEMdoesnothavetooptintobeanOEMAppChampion,andreviewing

applicationsonbehalfoftheSDLCisnotrequiredforanOEMtoaccessanapp.Applicationsthataren’treviewedbyOEMswillbereviewedbytheSDLC’sapplicationtestinghouse.TheadvantageofallowingOEMstoreviewonbehalfoftheSDLCisthattheycanhelpexpeditetheprocesstogetanapptomarket,astheSDLChaslimitedresources.However,allOEMswhichtheappdeveloperselectedasallowanceswillhaveaccesstotheapplicationonceithasbeenSDLCcertified.

• WhatistheapproximatetimingforSDLCAppCertification?o Initialturnaroundtimeistwodaysfromappsubmissiontoprovidingtheapp
