current only via a properly installed socket with earthing.▶ The protective conductor system of the domestic electrical

device, e.g. a timer or remote control.▶ When the appliance is installed, the mains plug of the

power cord must be freely accessible. If free access is notpossible, an all-pole isolating switch must be installed in thepermanent electrical installation according to the installationregulations.▶ When installing the appliance, check that the power cable is

with food and accessible drain systems.▶ Store raw meat and fish in suitable containers in the refri-

gerator so that they do not touch or drip on other food.▶ If the fridge/freezer is empty for an extended period of time,

switch off the appliance, defrost it, clean it and leave thedoor open to prevent the formation of mould.

¡ When you close the door, a va-cuum may be created. The door isthen difficult to open again. Wait amoment until the vacuum is offset.

You can keep meat, sausage, fish,dairy products, eggs, prepared mealsand pastries in the refrigerator com-partment.You can set the temperature in therefrigerator compartment from 2 °Cto 8 °C.The recommended temperature inthe refrigerator compartment is 4 °C. → ""OK" sticker", Page 18The refrigerator compartment canalso be used to store highly perish-able foods in the short to mediumterm. The lower the selected temper-ature, the longer the food remainsfresh.

Tips for storing food in the re-frigerator compartmentFollow the tips if you store food inyour refrigerator compartment.¡ To ensure that the freshness and

quality of the food is retained forlonger, only store fresh and un-spoiled food.

¡ In the case of ready-madeproducts and bottled goods, donot exceed the best-before date oruse-by date specified by the manu-facturer.

¡ To retain aroma, colour and fresh-ness or to prevent taste transferand discolouration of the plasticparts, store food well wrapped orcovered.

¡ Leave warm food and beveragesto cool down before placing themin the refrigerator compartment.

Chill zones in the refrigeratorcompartmentThe air circulation in the refrigeratorcompartment creates different chillzones.

Coldest zoneThe coldest zone is between the ar-row stamped on the side and theshelf underneath.Tip: Store perishable food (e.g. fish,sausage, meat) in the coldest zone.

Warmest zoneThe warmest zone is at the very topof the door.Tip: Store food that does not spoileasily in the warmest zone, e.g. hardcheese and butter. Cheese can thencontinue to release its aroma and thebutter will still be easy to spread.

"OK" stickerThe "OK" sticker lets you checkwhether the refrigerator compartmentreaches the safe temperature rangesof +4 °C or colder recommended forfood.The "OK" sticker is not included withall models.If the sticker does not indicate "OK",gradually reduce the temperature. → "Setting the refrigerator compart-ment temperature", Page 17Once the appliance is switched on, itmay take up to 12 hours until the settemperature is reached.

Defrosting in the refrigeratorcompartmentWhen the appliance is operating,condensation droplets or frost formon the rear panel of the refrigeratorcompartment due to functional reas-ons. The back panel in the refriger-ator compartment defrosts automatic-ally.Condensation runs through the con-densation channel into the drainagehole to the evaporation pan and doesnot have to be wiped away.To ensure that the condensation candrain and odours do not form, ob-serve the following information: → "Cleaning the condensation chan-nel and drainage hole", Page 20.
