Request for Volunteers in Oklahoma and Texas

Kingdom Workers stands ready to provide WELS Christian Aid and Relief with volunteer help when it is determined that help is needed. Many are waiting to return to their homes after they evacuated to friends’ and families’ houses due to the recent disasters in Oklahoma and Texas. Christian Aid and Relief Director of Operations Mark Vance is traveling to the affected areas to see how we can best help them in the recovery process. For now it is best to let the first responders do their jobs. Kingdom Workers is now looking for volunteers to serve as part of a disaster response team when one is needed Let us know you’re interested by completing our online form at www.kingdomworkers.com/servemissions. Remember to check the Disaster Response box on the form. We look forward to hearing from you as we work together and share the gospel. Contact Kingdom Workers at KingdomWorkers.com, [email protected], or call 414-771-6848. If you're interested in helping through a monetary gift, you can designate a gift on your offering envelope for "WELS Christian Aid and Relief" and perhaps further designate "OK tornadoes."

TSL Tuesday Ladies The Tuesday Ladies will meet this Tuesday, May 28, at 8:00 am in the Western

Avenue campus Multi-Purpose Room to complete some end-of-the-school year projects. We thank the ladies for their help this past school year and for many years prior. Thank you!

2013-14 Proposed Trinity Budget Copies of the proposed ministry plan (budget) for next year are available in the

Fireside Room (on the table behind the couch). You will also find a letter regarding our current and future ministry plan. The voters’ meeting for discussing and accepting next year’s budget is scheduled for Monday, June 17 at 7:00.

Our Ministry at Trinity

Read your Bible! Every week in the Sunday bulletin you will find that week’s Bible readings along

with questions and activities related to those readings. If you would like to receive the readings directly to your computer, “like” us on our Facebook page at trinitywatertownwi.

Summer Worship Schedule The summer worship schedule will begin Sunday, May 26. Sunday service times

will be 8 and 9:30 am. Wednesday services remain at 6:30 pm. As you vacation away from home, remember that you can find a nearby WELS church at wels.net or by calling the church office.

Divine Call Issued Last Sunday the Trinity voters extended a divine call to Mr. Jason Schapekahm to

serve as grades 7-8 teacher and vice-principal (Clark Street campus) at Trinity-St. Luke’s Lutheran School. Mr. Schapekahm currently teaches at St. Philip Lutheran School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Keep him and our school in your prayers!

Call Recognition Letter Dear Brothers and Sisters of Trinity Lutheran Church,

I am humbled and honored that God the Holy Spirit led you to extend to me the call to serve as your seventh and eighth grade teacher and vice-principal at Trinity-St. Luke’s Lutheran School. I am grateful for this opportunity to consider both my present call to St. Philip’s as well as the call I now hold to Trinity-St. Luke’s. This will most certainly be a time for much prayer and both personal and professional reflection. I pray for the Holy Spirit to guide me as I examine my gifts and where I may best serve Him. It is my prayer that God leads me to a decision that is pleasing to Him and will be a benefit to my family, to those I serve, and to His kingdom. I also pray that God continues to bless the ministry at both schools and the three congregations affected by this call. It is truly a joy and a privilege for us to share in this important work. I thank you for all the prayers you have already offered on my behalf and ask for your continued prayers and support as I consider this call. May our gracious and loving God continue to be with you and bless you. In His Service, Jason Schapekahm

with fellow Christians from studying the Scriptures. One study (Dealing with the Sins of Society) will meet on specific Tuesday evenings and another study (Lord’s Prayer) on specific Thursday mornings. See the enclosed insert for the specific dates and topics.

Trinity Teens to Six Flags-Great America WELS teens from all around the area will be taking part in the Western Wisconsin

This will be an all-day event, as we will take advantage of a full day at the park. Sign up in the Fireside Room if you are interested or speak with Pastor Kuckhahn. The deadline for signing up is Sunday, June 2.

Farewell for Mr. Maurice

Mr. Brian Maurice has accepted a call to teach at Luther Preparatory School in the fall. Even though Mr. Maurice and his family will not be leaving our midst, we would like to take an opportunity to thank him for his faithful service to Trinity– St. Luke’s Lutheran School and wish him God’s blessing on his new position.
