Film Script for Little Monster- by Royal Blood The beginning of the video will take part in a rural setting at a very old fashioned house. We wanted to set it here so the audience realises that he comes from a family that doesn’t have much money and might be seen as lower class in society. The first shots will be a close up of the knocker as the boy then comes out, the knocker is almost falling off which again reiterates the fact that he lives in quite a run down, old house. After the boy leaves we will have him walk down across the guitar where he will spin the guitar which he has left with round to the front of his body. This is the first time where the audience see the boy’s dream of becoming part of a band. He will then go out of a gate as the camera switches the track him as he walks down the middl e of small, rural road. We want him to be filmed at a tracking shot so it will look like he is leaving his old life and trying to find a new one somewhere else. The camera will then switch to a band playing in a darkened room as though they are practicing for a gig. However there will be no singer for the band meaning that we will just leave a mic on its own as the band play around it. The story will then continue for boy as we know see him being tracked in to a suburban area. But soon the boy realises that leaving home was a big mistake and he begins to wonder if he will ever reach his dream of playing in a band. We follow the boy as he enters the park to contemplate the choices he’s made so far. As we see the boy begin to break down we will see a couple of gang members make their way to the park after seeing the boy protagonist enter earlier. Seeing that he is already distressed they walk up to him on the swings. The boy seems a bit nervous of them at first but after they talk him round they offer him drugs. After a while the boy takes their number and they then leave. The boy goes to an abandoned, run down shed area where he rashly decided to phone the drug dealers and purchase some drugs. In-between all of the narrative sections are quick cuts back to the performance section where the shots emphasise the lack of singer by showing an empty microphone. As the story continues we find out that the boy has become even more depressed after the effects of the drugs, also the drug dealers come back to find him and we soon realise that the boy did not have enough money to pay for the drugs. The gang members start beating him up and they end up taking his guitar and throwing it away in a bin. The boy, clearly pained, starts to get up realising that they had taken his guitar. In pain the boy struggles over towards the bin where he finds his guitar. He seems to be uplifted by the fact that it hasn’t been trashed and is still playable. Clearly beaten and broken the boy has no option but to start busking to try and earn some money. The boy starts to become popular with the locals as they start giving him more money every day. The boy clearly is talented, soon a band manager walks past him. Hearing his talent he soon offers him a music contract which the boy happily signs. We see the boy sign the contract and then change from his torn and muddy clothes in to a new suit. He then makes his way to the band practice which is the same band as we saw in the performance section earlier. He reaches he dream in life of being part of the band which emphasises the fact that anyone can reach their goals in life no matter how low down in society they are.

Film Script for Little Monster- by Royal Blood

The beginning of the video will take part in a rural setting at a very old fashioned house. We wanted

to set it here so the audience realises that he comes from a family that doesn’t have much money

and might be seen as lower class in society. The first shots will be a close up of the knocker as the

boy then comes out, the knocker is almost falling off which again reiterates the fact that he lives in

quite a run down, old house. After the boy leaves we will have him walk down across the guitar

where he will spin the guitar which he has left with round to the front of his body. This is the first time where the audience see the boy’s dream of becoming part of a band.

He will then go out of a gate as the camera switches the track him as he walks down the middl e of

small, rural road. We want him to be filmed at a tracking shot so it will look like he is leaving his old

life and trying to find a new one somewhere else. The camera will then switch to a band playing in a

darkened room as though they are practicing for a gig. However there will be no singer for the band

meaning that we will just leave a mic on its own as the band play around it. The story will then

continue for boy as we know see him being tracked in to a suburban area. But soon the boy realises

that leaving home was a big mistake and he begins to wonder if he will ever reach his dream of playing in a band.

We follow the boy as he enters the park to contemplate the choices he’s made so far. As we see the

boy begin to break down we will see a couple of gang members make their way to the park after

seeing the boy protagonist enter earlier. Seeing that he is already distressed they walk up to him on

the swings. The boy seems a bit nervous of them at first but after they talk him round they offer him

drugs. After a while the boy takes their number and they then leave. The boy goes to an abandoned,

run down shed area where he rashly decided to phone the drug dealers and purchase some drugs.

In-between all of the narrative sections are quick cuts back to the performance section where the

shots emphasise the lack of singer by showing an empty microphone. As the story continues we find

out that the boy has become even more depressed after the effects of the drugs, also the drug

dealers come back to find him and we soon realise that the boy did not have enough money to pay

for the drugs. The gang members start beating him up and they end up taking his guitar and

throwing it away in a bin. The boy, clearly pained, starts to get up realising that they had taken his

guitar.

In pain the boy struggles over towards the bin where he finds his guitar. He seems to be uplifted by

the fact that it hasn’t been trashed and is still playable. Clearly beaten and broken the boy has no

option but to start busking to try and earn some money. The boy starts to become popular with the

locals as they start giving him more money every day. The boy clearly is talented, soon a band

manager walks past him. Hearing his talent he soon offers him a music contract which the boy happily signs.

We see the boy sign the contract and then change from his torn and muddy clothes in to a new suit.

He then makes his way to the band practice which is the same band as we saw in the performance

section earlier. He reaches he dream in life of being part of the band which emphasises the fact that anyone can reach their goals in life no matter how low down in society they are.
