TFA Screening Procedure

Dear captains,

Welcome to the TFA screening procedure. Concerning the sophistication of the whole pro-cess of screening, some tips and notes are for your reference and convenience. We would be happy if it offers help.

The total screening process includes four parts, which are

• CAACMedicalCheck,• TheoryTest,• SimulatorCheck• ATPwrittentest

ThemostimportantpartistheSimulatorCheck.Ifyouquestionyourcurrentproficiency,we suggest a practice session before the test.

Procedure that gets you to Beijing

• YourDocumentPackagewilldeterminewhetherornotyoumeettherequired criteriasetdownbytheairlines.TFAcollectsyourdocumentpackage, checksitforrequiredcriteria,andthensendsthispackagetotheairline.• Theairlinecommitteewillgoovereachdocument and determine whether or not thisapplicantmeetstherequiredcriteria,ifeverythingisinorder,• TheairlineauthorizesaLetterofInvitationbesenttotheapplicanttovisitPEK. AnyPilotwhoreceivesthisInvitationLetter,(whichtheywillneedfortheirVisa), has been selected as a future employee of the airline.• OnreceivingyourInvitationLetter,takeorsendyourPassporttotheChinese EmbassytofacilitateyourChineseVisa. Sim Check

• Location:CAwilladviseonarrivalinPEK• Require:Businessattire• ArriveTime:30minutesbeforethecheck• TheSIMcheckwillconsistof2hrs.Training+30min.pre-briefingand 1hr.operation+30min.post-briefing,totally4hrs.• NormallytheSIMcheckwillnotbetheregularoperation,in most cases is the emergency situation, • CAwillprovideSIMmaterialsaswellascompanynormaloperationprocedures for you to study• CAwillarrangetheF.O.fortheSIM.Inordertobettercooperateduring the SIMcheck,pleasecommunicate&studywiththeF.O.inadvance,ifpossible

CAAC ATP Written Test

• Location:CAwilladviseonarrivinginPEK• Time:2.5hours• Require:30minutesbeforethetest• Needtobring• 2passportphotoswithdarkbluebackground• Yourownpassportandpen.

Tipsandrequirements:• Thetestwillbedoneoncomputer,donotexitprogramuntilallthequestions are answered.• Youarenotallowedtobringacalculator.Instead,youcanusethecalculator software in computer.• Iftherearesomequestionsyouarenotsureof,pleasechooseoneanswer, and then clicktheMARKbutton.Afteryoufinishallquestions,youcangobacktoallthe questionsmarked,thinkitoveragainandchoosetheansweronemoretime.• Yourtestresultisimmediatelyprovidedonyourscreenaftercompletion.• Youarerequiredtogetatleast70gradestopassthetest,28daystoretaketest.

Registration for work in China

License Confirmation:• Next,youwilltaketheCAACcheckandregisterforyourworkVisa• InordertoapplyforyourworkVisa,CAneedstogetthe License ConfirmationLetterfromtheCivilAviationAdministrationOfficeinyourCountry.

CAAC Simulator Check:• TheCAACSimulatorcheckisthelaststepofthescreeningprocess.Itwilltake2hrs.• MaterialsrequiredforthisCheck:

1. 24Passportphotos2. InordertoapplyforaChineseATPL,youshouldfillintwoforms:(P1andP2) OneisanApplicationforCivilAircraftPilotLicenseandorratingtheotherisa RecordofPilottime.TFAhasprovidedacopyofthesetwodocumentstoeliminate any confusion during the process.

Documents for Registration to Work in China

No Criminal Certificate: TheNoCriminalCertificatemustbeissuedbythegovernmentinyour country of nationality• ItmustbetranslatedintoChinese• ItmustbenotarizedbyChineseEmbassyinyourcountry• Thisdocumentisvalidfor6monthsfromtheissueddate

No Accident/Incident Record• NoAccident/IncidentRecordshallbeissuedbyyourpreviouscompany• Mustcover3yearswithouttimegap,ifyouworkedfor2ormorecompanies duringlast3years,weneedallcompanies‘NoAccidentRecords’• Shouldbesignedbythechiefpilotorthemanagerofflightmanagementinyour previous company. The sentence “Also, Captain has no history of violation of civil aviationsecuritylawsandregulationssince(MonthYear)shouldbeexactlythe same added into the record.
