Modern screening plants are judged by the quality o

material produced, specic throughput, sustainability,

rigid design, availability, power consumption andpersonnel required, in other words, the overall

economy.

The ever increasing demand or higher throughputs,

calls or larger machines, not least because they are

more economical. Having recognised this trend decades

ago, SIEBTECHNIK started to develope and manuacture

large screening machines, or preparation plants with

high capacities.

The SIEBTECHNIK screens with widths up to 5.5 m andlengths up to 11 m have been used successully in the

important industrial and mining nations.

At the same time, our wide range o screening machines

or small and medium capacities is also being developed

urther using up to date technology. We build andsupply specialised screening machines or pre-screening,

underwater screening and sand-screening.

They can be mobile, stationary, with dust covers, or or

classiying under inert gases etc.

According to process requirements crosswise and

longitudinally tensioned wire meshes, pressure welded

grids, polyurethane panels o all leading suppliers, punch

plates as well as stepped grizzly grids can be applied on

our machines.

All machines are designed with modern CAD-Systems

and present o the shel or tailor made solutions or

almost any screening problem.

Operational characteristicsSIEBTECHNIK circular motion screens are reely vibrating.

This means that the amplitude is sel regulating

depending on the relationship between the weight othe screen itsel and the counterweight. Circular motion

machines have a steep angle o throw and thereore

require an inclination o 10 - 18. Exceptions are the

dewatering screen at - 5 and steep screens, or

example when screening sand at an angle o 0 - 0.

Machine detailsThe screen rame, consisting o side plates and cross-

members, absorbs all static and dynamic orces. The drive

shat with counter weights runs in roller bearing

which are positioned at the centre o gravity. Drive is either

via V-belts or fexible coupling.

Larger machines can be additionally equipped with a

primary shat and centriugal coupling. Lubrication o the

bearings is either by oil or grease.The screen rame with

sets o springs rests on the support construction and

can be manuactured to accept lengthwise or crosswise

tensioned sieves as well as fat panels.

For dusty materials we can supply the machines with either

a dust hood or a complete dust enclosure.

usually 5 - 0.

The counterweight can be adjusted in stages rom

50 - 100 %. In this way the amplitude can be adjusted to

meet the operational reqirements.

Machine details The screen rame, consisting o side plates, cross-

members and drive, will absorb all static and dynamicorces. In most cases but not always the double

counterweight drives (exciters) are located above the

screen panel on rigid support beams. Six gearbox sizes

allow a good selection or a speciic application.

The drives are easily and quickly changed. The exciters

are designed, manuactured and i rerquired maintained

by SIEBTECHNIK. Power transmission rom the motor is

via coupling or V-belts.

Operational characteristicsSIEBTECHNIK Banana screens are high speed screening

machines. Due to the steep screen inclination, high

transport speeds are achieved. A very ine layer is

ormed and a large proportion o the ines pass through

the elongated apertures. The inclination is less in the

middle and discharge sections, which reduces thetransport speed. In these sections a good separation,

even o marginal particles, is achieved.

SIEBTECHNIK "Banana" screens achieve a very accurate

separation, even with extremely high eed rates and

diicult material. Originally Banana screens weredeveloped or two separations and have proved

themselves in that ield. However they have also been

used successully many times on multiple separation

applications.

Machine details"Banana" screens o type BHG are double counterweight

screening machines the same as the type HG described

on page and have thereore the same technical

characteristics. We manuacture these screens as single

or double deck machines, o two to ve sections with

gradually lattening inclination. E.g. In the steep part it

might be 5 - 0, in the middle sections 15 - 5 and

0 - 15 towards the discharge. The eective screening

areas can be up to 50 m.

The quantity o inclination sections and their degree

o slope can be designed according to specic require-

ments (e.g. restrictions in height o the steel structure o

the processing plant).

The elliptical motion screening machine combines

the advantages o circular and l inear motion

screens thus ensuring higher speciic throughputsand less blinding. Based on robust engineering and

proven SIEBTECHNIK components the double shat

drive with electronic control utilises the master/slave

principle.

The innitely variable angle o throw as well the vibra-

ting requency can be adjusted during operation just

by pushing a button to optimise eciency, thus saving

valuable production time.

With a pro Bus interace connection to the customersplc it is possible to program certain acceleration and el-

liptical parameters according to varying eed conditions.

It is also possible to program a cleaning run with vertical

Ellipsis an d maximum acceleration in order to eject near

mesh grains. This prevents blinding and reduces down-

time caused by otherwise necessary manual cleaning.

The design o the drive system within the machine rame

enables you to install the machine even in narrow instal-

lation situations with little available height.

SIEBTECHNIK primary screens with heavy punched plateor stepped grids have or years been very successul

under the most arduous conditions.

The screens are mostly used prior to the irst crushing

stage in limestone or hard rock-quarries, ore mines and

slag preparation plants. The stepped decks achieve a

good tumbling action or the material.

Where the eed material tends to peg, we suggest

stepped grids with slots that widen towards the

discharge end. We build these machines with a width o

up to 000 mm and a length o 000 mm.

SIEBTECHNIK underwater screening machines type UHG,have proved successul or the precise classiication o

minerals. The screen deck o this type o machine has

a steep incline at the eedend which is immersed in

the watertank, and rises at a latter angle towards the

discharge end.

It emerges rom the water ater about / o the machine

length. The material is already intensively mixed with

water beore reaching the submerged deck, at which

point it becomes a slurry and will be classiied.

The intensive linear vibrations ensure the breakdown

o any agglomerates, separation o sticky particles and

a very clean cut. The oversized material is transported

upwards towards the discharge end and is dewatered

on the last third o the screening deck.

A pump at the bottom o the watertank regulates the

water level / overlow and also extracts the undersized

material. We build underwater screens in widths o

1000 - 000 mm and one uniorm length o 000 mm.

We can achieve cuts as small as 0.5 mm.

For materials with a critical moisture content or a small

clay content, such as naturally moist sand which would

blind normal screening machines, we recommend

our sand screening machines with an inclination o

5 - 0.

The circular motion machines operate on the contra-

low basis, whereas the throw is almost vertical on the

linear motion machines.

The speciic eed capacity o these sand screens is

determined mainly by the moisture, clay content, size

and shape o the material, together with the size andshape o the aperture. We ind harps with thin wires or

long slots particularly successul.

We can supply sand screens complete with chutes and

hoppers, on skids or ully mobile, with 1 or 1 1/ decks.

Special screening machines

High capacity in a small area. For pre-classiying,

thickening, and classiying diicult materials we

recommend our multi deck screening machines with up

to 5 decks, or applications with a relatively high content

o marginal particles and acritical moisture.

The steep angle, particularly on the lower decks, provides

thin layer screening, allowing high throughputs and

accurate cuts even with smaller apertures.

We supply screening machines in light executions or

classiication, iltration, control screening or or smaller

eed rates:
